52 million.

But, bugger. I rather liked the first series, and am looking forward to getting the second on DVD when it's reduced. I guess it's people like me not watching that lerd to it being cancelled. :$

Yeah. You bloody...you!

Axed, apparently. Bastards.

Like Chip I was a great fan of series 1 but not seen any of series 2.

Originally of course in the 70s the first series was best and it went to 3 series but that too went downhill.

Bollocks. I hope they can make a one off episode to finish up the story, I was really enjoying it. I think the second series was, if anything, better than the first one.

My feelings exactly.

Boo the Beeb! Survivors was awesome, I can't believe they're going to leave it on that cliff-hanger.

:(

Try and watch the original series. Still my favourite TV show of all time.

I think they messed up on marketing it. If the first series did very well, there was clearly an audience for the second, but they fluffed it. I certainly don't remember seeing much fanfare for it. And the subsequent DVD release was a lowkey affair. Makes you wonder if the beeb just decided they didn't like the show any more and decided to help kill it.

I've just ordered all 3 of the original series on DVD for £18.18 on Amazon, now all I need is another bank holiday weekend to watch them all. :D

I don't know about the remake, but I've just started watching the original on DVD - up to Episode 4 now - and it's a damn sight better than any filmed version of Day of the Triffids (which isn't saying much). Would have been enthralling back in the day.

Seriously?

Eccentric choice to say the very least...

I mean it was good but it veered towards a post appocalyptic Goodlife at times.

Tis a bit like that, what with Peter Bowles in the first episode.

For fans of post-apocalyptic television, a new series called Falling Skies recently debuted here. Not sure if it's airing in the UK.

It's an alien invasion story which starts up after the aliens have killed 90% of the human race and obliterated most major cities. There's a band of resistors who are trying to kill the invaders and free their children who have been fitted with some sort of icky harness.

I wasn't wowed by the premiere but I'll give it a chance.

Sounds good DB, let us know if it's worth watching.

An amusing anecdote I have to share: We series recorded Survivors last year, and have tried unsuccessfully to delete it from the menu many times, but it keeps popping back up. It's a Survivor!

Just read this on Wikipedia:

The series (Falling Skies) will premiere on FX in the UK beginning July 5, 2011.

I'll look forward to watching 12 episodes before it gets cancelled. Rolling eyes
