But a big club with money to spend would have been attractive to Moyes. A step up, I say.

Everton's problems are finance and stadium. They will find it difficult to push on until they solve that conundrum because the support is certainly there.

If the Toffees already had a stadium like Eastlands then someoneone would've invested by now but the cost of building from scratch without Champions League cash is too much of a stretch. Unfortunately they won't attract the players to achieve that so it's a catch 22.

There wouldn't really be much point moving from Everton to Villa. They are on a similar level and Moyes has had a chance to build his team at Everton. And you never know - Ferguson was given forever before he actually won anything up there. Maybe it's Moyes' turn now.

Moyes probably hasn't had a single negative thing said to him by Evertonians, since he came to the club, so he's pretty loyal. Then gain, if he's eventually offered the chance to take over Ferguson's job at United, he'd be stupid to turn that down. *whispers* Just don't tell him I said that.

That's the nicest thing you've ever written about Ferguson!

He was extremely lucky to have so long. No-one else seems to get this sort of chance nowadays.

Times change.

I agree, it wouldn't happen now.

Villa are about to lose at least one or two of their best young players to "bigger" clubs. Sounds like a similar club size to Everton if you ask me, except Villa are now showing complete lack of ambition (if not foolhardiness) by appointing a twice-relegated manager with a reputation for negative football.

But don't forget he's one of Ferguson's prodigees.

And they've got a good achievements record.

Steve Bruce, Paul Ince, Roy Keane, Mark Hughes - they've all gone on to bigger and better things and won loads of trophies.

Does anyone know a web site where you can watch the Under 21 match? I haven't got Sky.

I expect England will be pleased to hear that!

One of their main rivals gone . .

My fear is that the next England manager will be Stuart 'Psycho' Pearce.

He's 'pashunate' and a 'bulldog' so he will get the job!

He won't

If the callers of talkSPORT or You're On Sky Sports have their way, he will.

He won't now, though, but it is a nagging fear.

its Harryt's
