Twice in 3 seasons, by the way.

He's still managed to win more trophies in those three seasons than Arsenal and Liverpool combined over five.

I'm amazed that Villa think McLeish is the best manager available!!
They wanted Moyes, but there was no way he was gonna leave for Villa. He knows that, if it hadn't been for our terrible list of injuries over the last few years, he probably would have got us to the Champions' League more than just the one time, back in 2005. So, if anything, it would've been a step down for him, apart from the wages.
My 4-year-old nephew, Tom, will be starting his first football lessons soon, so I'm thinking of buying him Everton's brand-spanking-new home kit, which will be coming out soon. I really like the way they've brought the old-style collar back: http://www.epltalk.com/everton-home-shirt-for-2011-2012-season-leaked-photos-30742
That Phil Jones looks a big f**ker and he's still growing.

Hopefully he'll grow like the elephant man.

I can't agree about it being a step down.
Villa, Everton and Spurzzz are pretty much level pegging in terms of club size. I'd give the edge to Villa, though, as they have been European Champions. Also, Villa fans are not just confined to Birmingham- they have 1000s of regular 'local' fans from as far south as Gloucester and as far north as Staffordshire/Shropshire. (I'm not saying Everton don't, BTW)
And I'm a Blues fan.

We are more successful (on paper) than Arsenal, Villa, Liverpool, Newcastle, Leeds, West Ham, etc!

As an eight year old, I had a picture of David Platt in his Villa shirt on my bedroom door. And I support Man Utd!
Also, remember that Tom Hanks is a huge, HUGE fan of Aston Villa.
^ And Dave Cameron and Prince Willy!

Weren't we only discussing this about two weeks ago? I thought we'd established that Spurs have achieved nowhere near as much as Everton and Villa. Remember, they've only won the league twice, the last time being a whopping fifty years ago!
As for me sayng Villa would be a step down for Moyes, I was mainly referring to recent years. I know Villa haven't been that far behind Everton, but as I said, we'd have done a lot better if we hadn't had a ridiculous number of injuries over the last few years. I don't know what Villa's injury situation been like, but it can't have been as bad as Everton's.
Fair enough, CS.

There wouldn't really be much point moving from Everton to Villa. They are on a similar level and Moyes has had a chance to build his team at Everton. And you never know - Ferguson was given forever before he actually won anything up there. Maybe it's Moyes' turn now.
But the board at Everton won't spend/don't have any money. Villa have been consistently in the top 5 biggest spenders in the league, and a new manager is more than likely to be backed with new signings.

But top 5 spenders doesn't equal top 5 place.
