Does anyone know the name of a superhero series shown recently on the Sci Fi channel which was supposed to invoke the tongue-in-cheek campness of the 60s Batman and Flash Gordon film. Got some good notices but can't recall what it's called.

The live action version of The Tick was shown on Sci Fi iirc. I suppose that could be it.

Only seen it once, and that was years ago, but I remember quite enjoying Darkman.

Superhero films are scraping the bottom of the barrel (the Green Lantern!) although I heard Guillermo del Toro was making film of Dr Strange which sounds promising.

There has already been a low budget Nick Fury film with Dolph Lungren but not really up there with Dark Knight.

Was it the Phantom?

There was actually a Nick Fury film with the Hoff apparently.

Got it!

Spiderman for me, blimmin fantastic films, both of 'em. And Dunst in a wet teeshirt :) :) :) :)

And quite liked the Asterix movie with Depardeu an co. though I remember people being cool about it. It certainly looked good to the eye, however good the story and stuff was, which I can't remember much of.

The third Spiderman film sucked huge, hairy balls. It was AWFUL. The first two were pretty good, though.

The third film's watchable fun. Not a patch on the second, but Sam Rami's far too talented a director to ever make a bad film.

They thought the same about Tim Burton, but look at the bilge he's producing for last 9 years.

Raimi's far more fun than Tim Burton ever was. In fact outside of Beetlejuice and Ed Wood Burton's a bit of a bore.

He did with that one, was garbage. Coming from who it did, it probably felt all the more painful.

To be fair garbage is being very very kind. Rember Peter being evil with slicked hair? Sick Sick Sick God...I was so bad! So, So Bad! Green Goblin and Pete fighting together like best f**king buds. Oh my god. It actually f**king happened lol!

Watchable cheesy claptrap. Bad implies unwatchable crap you can't even get to the end of. Like the 2nd and 3rd Pirates films.

Or Murderball

I didn't get to the end of it, because it was shit.

I liked the first two Spiderman films and I liked Tim Burton's first stab at Batman. The rest bore me to tears.
