Super Hero / Comic Book films

So we're suddenly being overwhelmed with them. I used to read Marvel and DC comics when I was young and I've recently seen Thor which wasn't as good as I was hoping.

One Hero I couldn't quite "get" was Green Lantern because he seemed to be able to turn his ring to anything (Go on Sooty!). I just couldn't see how it had such unlimited capabilities.

I think of the lesser known charcters the best film was Daredevil.

I understand there's a Nick Fury one coming out. He appeared after the closing credits in Thor. I'd like to see a film of Nick Fury and his Howling Commandoes.

There's an Avengers one on the way, after Captain America etc., not sure of an actual Nick Fury film being released though.

I enjoy a lot of these. Batman Begins and it's sequel, the two Fantastic Four outings and, generally, the X-Men films are my faves. Watchmen isn't bad as adaptions go, but V For Vendetta was awful as were both Hulk films. Wasn't keen on Daredevil myself or the Elektra one. And the Superman Returns (was it called that) was boring as hell too.

I'm waiting for the twats who make Twilight (and the other 'Tween' shit) for venture into the comic word with their hideous takes on fan favourites. It's bound to happen.

I like a well made super hero film, but they have gone overboard in recent years. Most seem to merge into one another nowadays. Time to try something new. Or at least pick some really obscure and weird offbeat comic books.

Most of them are a bit shit.

Spiderman was alright. Batman and Batman Returns orginal trilogy Superman great. X-men 1-2 good. Nothing else springs straight to mind.

Like Scott Pilgrim? That was awful. Kick Ass was fun though, I'd watch more of them.

Spiderman 2 was Doc Ock wasnt it? Yeh that was good.

Recently, the Chris Nolan Batman films and Scott Pilgrim have been great.

The 2 Iron Man films are great fun.

And The Dark Knight's opening homage to Heat is probably the best start to a superhero movie ever.

I was thinking more Ghost World, Oldboy or A History Of Violence.

Ghost World was great, I found History Of Violence a bit thin, but perhaps I was expecting more after all the positive hype.

AHOV was dull.

The League Of Extraodinary Gentlemen, now there was a great adaptation of a comic book. (Sarcasm)

I like it, but I prefer Eastern Promises because of the naked sauna fight that makes you go for it's duration.

Does anyone know the name of a superhero series shown recently on the Sci Fi channel which was supposed to invoke the tongue-in-cheek campness of the 60s Batman and Flash Gordon film. Got some good notices but can't recall what it's called.

Superhero films are scraping the bottom of the barrel (the Green Lantern!) although I heard Guillermo del Toro was making film of Dr Strange which sounds promising.

There has already been a low budget Nick Fury film with Dolph Lungren but not really up there with Dark Knight.
