4 reasons why Mumsnet is a steaming pile of shit Page 2

Mumsnet is where all the hip mums would hang out if the Nazis had won the war.

I suspect the political attention given to mumsnet was the result of some accidental snowballing. One leading politician, who's spin doctor is involved with the site, does a niche interview to announce something or other.
This is then press released to the dailies who continue to trawl the site for lazy quotes for some tabloid guff fest about Russell Brand swearing or Rhianna's skirt. The heightened publicity invites rival politicians to do an interview and so on and so on.

In fact this site could probably do the same thing; tout it around that BCG is a site heavily visited by key floating voters in marginals, get Nick Clegg to do an interview saying how much he likes Michael McIntyre and announce his latest policy to clamp down on dole scroungers and who knows where BCG's influence and fame will end.

There was a time when I thought the Nazis HAD won the war, but anyway, mumsnet, I must go and join, sounds kule!

Yes I'm back, must shake the dust out of my old avatar! :-)

Mum's net seems to be a fairly anodyne group of concerned mums campaigning on sensible issues.

Don't like it? Form your own, sofa_masturbators.net.

They gave Gordon Brown an absolute monstering when he deserved it and they've trashed the conservatives on their f**k witted cuts to health and social care. Good for them, they've done better than most news papers and frankly the so called oppositions.

They also have a growing number of dads, so not all mums etc.

We'd all better off with them. And if they're getting concerned about internet porn again good for them, they've got a point.

Unless this is just yet another BCG trollesque manufactured argument.

You mean there are arguments on BCG that haven't been? :O

If there existed a law preventing people from inciting hatred against themselves, your above post would be in contravention of it.

Personally, I think it should be a prerequisite for women to be vetted for Mumsnet membership, before the label of "MILF" is bestowed upon them.

Don't you have a mum, Gokkun? Or is she just some slut?

Bloody women.

Watch it lofthouse the secret alarm has been pressed an angry battalion of angry women are going to find you. They are very angry.

Sooty, I think you are missing the point raised in the very first post of this thread.

Recently, the Mumsnet message board has been fawned over by politicians.

The question is why should a rather narrow-range and middle-class group *apparently* have so much influence on government policy? I think it's a reasonable question to ask.

You might as well ask the same question about the Daily Mail.

You think I don't? :)

Except, like it or loathe it, the Mail sells a lot of copies. Mumsnet has a hardcore of small activists who *appear* to influnce policy disproportionately.
