Slow day on the BCG!

Hi Randy. How's it going?

All is well. My son is getting ready to drive to California for 3 months so it's going to be mighty quiet around here.

I'm trying to decide whether or not I want to make another trip to the pistol range this afternoon. Ammo is somewhat pricy.

Good, good :)

Is there such a thing as budget-ammo, for just firing for fun? Or does that shizzle mess your piece up, ma *****'?

Most people keep their personal defence magazines filled with quality (expensive) ammo that is designed to do really nasty things to flesh. You can buy cheaper stuff to use at the range. The good stuff is more than a dollar per round while the cheap stuff is about 40 cents (25p-ish?) per round. I burned through 200 rounds yesterday so that comes to about $80 in ammo and $4 for the use of the range. Shooting ranks up there with golfing when it comes to expensive hobbies and they don't let you drink beer at the range like they do on the links.

Wonder why!

Damn! Ever considered a crossbow? I assume you can reuse the arrow/darts a few times OR even better, Rambo up and use a bow and arrow?

yup Walmart famously used to sell buckets of .22 plinking ammunition for something ridiculously cheap.

But then stopped selling it after Bowling for Columbine.

Laughing out loud

Best value gun?

Aww, I loved them!

That man has got rather long fingernails...

I used to like the potato at the end

Shooting ranges are also a popular place to take your child and shoot them in the back of the head...

We were just shooting a bow in my neighbor's back yard last weekend. Good for hunting and target shooting but no so good for defence, especially when you're in a car. A bow is rather difficult to conceal, too.

I doubt that holds true as they're probably the largest seller of ammo in the country. .22 rounds are tiny and rather uncomplicated and you can always buy them at 3 or 4 cents per round or less.

Well I wouldn't expect to use a bow for your first line of defence. But it does look fun. We have archery ranges near where I live I believe. Will have to check it out sometime.
