It never rains but it pours...

Just when you think things have settled down our bathroom toilet floods and water has come down the downstairs loo light fitting and in the kitchen. Initially I couldn't turn the stopcock off but that's sorted now.

According to a plumber neighbour it appears the waste pipe is a bit too square on so it's surprising we haven't had a blockage problem before. "Looks like it was fitted by my gran" was his rather damning verdict.

Couldn't get hold of our rented property management people who typically changed over last month after the previous guy retired. I've not got any emergency numbers from the new company which I guess I should've thought about before now but I've not even spoken to them about anything anyway.

Please God let me come back to work.

Sheesh - looking forward to a non-crisis Tuumble post soon! At least given your recent experience I hope you think this is small beer (which it is).

Good to see Nat Wicks back again as well.

I know it's no use now but, when turning off a stopcock, turn off fully and then come back half a turn. This helps to prevent jamming.

Ha! The plumber said EXACTLY that! :D

Wowie DaButt, you fired off your piece, drank beer and chatted to a hot chick in a bar - about beer?

The words gay and over-compensating don't come to mind at all.

DaButt by name...

This is Texas: you're issued a gun at age 10, beer is served with every meal and gays are forbidden by law.

Erm, I think that relates to when turning ON a stopcock.

If you did what you suggested the water would not be OFF, so you could be in for a soaking.

Oh well, I knew what was meant anyway - I've had a difficult few days. :)

Yep very, and final payment on flat on 1st July.

So have you been paying for two places at the same time?

Yep, it's been killing me.

Moving in to Vauxhall next week!
