The Newspaper Thread

I've avoided newspapers for years. I hate 99% of them and the way they are written and designed. I find the tabloids are vicious, spiteful and hypoctical, and the broadsheets too toffee-nosed and sneery.

But, the other week when away from home and with an hour or so to kill at a service station I bought a copy of the I newspaper- mainly 'cause it was 20p.

I loved it and have bought every issue since.

Your newspaper of choice is....?

I only read Metro

two reasons:

1) its free
2) it's not written by c**ts

Never read it. Is it only available in that London?

No! I'm in Bolton.

It's a national free newspaper.

Full of news!

Well, mostly.

Oooooh.....is it that the paper you get on the bus?

I never get the bus.

Aye

buses n trains

I don't read any. Apart from if I find one on a train.

Eeeew! I'd never pick up a paper on the bus/train.........they always look filthy.

Bolton news?

Bolton scientists prove all southerners are wankers.
Fat lass doesn't give out a blowjob for chips, economy plummets.
Bolton not shit, declares village idiot to universal amusement.

Sootyj reads the Guardian and the Sun most days. And the Daily Mail once a week.

But if he wants to know what's happening the world; Google news or BBC news website. But news is kinda opinion, it's opinion that's fun.

It's weird. I would never touch anything else left on a train.

Well you went out with Aaron!

arf arf, I am the soule of wit.

I've got the Times pretty much every day for the last ten years, but I've recently become addicted to the Guardian's cryptic crossword so now I have to buy that as well if I'm not at work.

:) I believe I started a 'news' thread on new ideas.[unsuccessfully]

Regarding Guardian crossword, Bunthorn is a bastard!

I find most of them bastards. A Rufus today. At least he's potentially do-able. Not in a rude sense.

In other breaking news, Rob loves a newspaper.

I like i too. I'm glad they got told off about their advert though.

I read the Metro most days, largely because it's easy to grab a copy at the train station and the shop I go past doesn't open until 7 and my train is a 7:07 so I don't always get a chance to nip in and buy a paper.

The Metro is pretty rubbish but it kills about 15 minutes of my journey.
