Chopped down a tree.
So you're now a treefella?

It was stopping me getting to my front door and parking my car.

I'd have left it. A tree provides good cover.
In general (not you bigfella, as you had a decent reason) I think cutting down trees should be avoided. They are usually a hundred years old and it's a bit bloody egotistical to think we have the right to chop 'em down.
It's like those people who killed those giant tortoises in the Galapagos islands (who were three hundred years old) just to provide them with a couple of meals.

Only just got that.

Zooo that is rubbish those people weren't three hundred years old! Jonathan Swift was using allegory!
Status report:
Tapping on arm which is being amazingly unresponsive and still.
Kicking leg which also being very disobedient and not responding.
Can't understand what is going on.

I'm gonna get you.
Your own or someone else's?
Quote: Timbo @ June 4 2011, 11:10 PM BSTYour own or someone else's?
It is not my own nor someone else's. I'm sitting in an arm chair.
Booked tickets for Edinburgh during the comedy festival; now to choose who to go and see.
Oh, joy! After an entire week's absence, the wee fox appeared at midnight and pressed his nose against the glass. His wound is now lumpy but not bloody. Defrosted some chicken scraps for him to celebrate that he is not an ex-fox.
Hurray!!

Absolutely with you on that !
What takes an hour to do takes years to replace.
I finally gave permission for the cutting down of a tree in our garden last week. Bastard vandals set it alight more than 2 years ago and I kept hoping it would revive, but no, alas.

Sad circumstance.
