Can Women Write? Page 2

Is Liz Jones the lady who writes for the mail about living in the country and her ex husband?

Yes, she's ace.

I know her agent quite well ;)

Lol, what a dunce.
Not the best industry in which to talk down to women, either. His agent/editor/publisher (likely to be women) should dump the twat.

In the full interview he commented that his female editor was excellent but when she tried writing a novel of her own it was garbage, or words to that effect.

He's probably got a book and is whipping up some instant-controversy to help sell it. You know what shameless hustlers most writers are! ;)

I'll let him know lol ;)

I really dislike the misguided fantasy that everybody is equally good at everything - be they male/female, black/white, young/old. There's a reason the fastest man in the world isn't Japanese - but writing is something that women are demonstrably good at. And quite probably better than men. Certainly more women write.

Although if you listen to women it should a mystery why so many men write great love songs and poetry, because they are insensitive, unromantic, more interested in their cars, don't listen, ungreatful, only think of one thing, blah, blah, blah

Is that while the washing's on or they're waiting for the dinner to cook? Shouldn't they be vaccuuming then instead?

I'd like Liz Jones to let her Suzie loose on him.

Is that a euphemism?

PS - I read her every week too. (Insensitive bitch!)

Mind you I read Brigette Jones's diary it was rubbish.

Have women improved on that one yet?

Oooh let's see. George Eliot, the Brontes, Mary Shelley, Jane Austen, Iris Murdoch, AS Byatt, JK Rowling (okay maybe not Rowling but she recreated the children's book and got people reading), Nadine Gordimer, Doris Lessing for starters.

JK Rowling is significantly better than the others.

So we established women can write.

But can they fight eh?

Put em up!

Remember that toughest BCG female thread? I'm sure one of them will be along in a minute.
:)

Fans of Old Harry's Game will know you don't mess with Jane Austen.
