Dabutt, yes but it just gives a Google search bar????????%%$$££^^&&
I can get that if I type Google in IE or Mozilla search effin bar??&^%$%^&*&^%
It is nothing like Mozilla Firefox or IE ????!!!!!

It most certainly is a full-featured, standalone browser that's touted as the best that's out there. Are you sure you actually downloaded and installed it? Are you clicking on a Google Chrome icon to start it up?

'Scuse me, I'm the one that DB is shouting at. Let BB sort it herself.

I'm not shouting, I'm just frustrated that people keep saying Chrome isn't a full web browser and that's utterly incorrect. Millions of people use it every day and it's NOT a search bar, it's a freaking web browser that's now used by 1 out of every 8 Internet users on the planet.

https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/Google_Chrome

I never said that. Check the posts. I only asked if she had the capacity on her current browser to change it to Google via the tool bar because that was what BB asked.
Whatever, I have to leave you to sort this out as I have to iron a shirt for an interview tomorrow.

I didn't like it, it works funny.

Chrome is the best browser out there imo ( and I've tried them all). Once you've downloaded it BB you can import your favourites from IE.

Such as? It allows add-ons like Firefox, automatically keeps itself synced across multiple computers (nifty) and also automatically updates itself when security fixes come around. It's slightly different than IE and Firefox but better in nearly every way as far as I can tell.

BB if you don't want to try DB's suggestion, try this link.

http://www.browserchoice.eu/BrowserChoice/browserchoice_en.htm

It gives you the choice of IE, firefox, opera, chrome and safari.

Thanks but I still don't get it. On IE or Firefox, it gives you a home page with toolbars at the top etc, with Google Chrome it is just a toobar search whereby you have to type in a web rather than going to 'favourites' or 'bookmarks' I honestly can't get why Google Chrome is revered???

I just get a blank thingy whereby I have to type in the web I want? i.e if I want to come on here I would have to type in BCG, otherwise on IE or Firefox I just click on 'favourites or 'Bookmarks' and voila I can come on here

aaaaaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhh

If you click the little spanner in the top right hand corner, one of the options should be 'bookmark manager', from there you should be able to import your favourites.

BB click on the spanner at the top right and you'll get a dropdown that will help you set it up, sort a homepage. Then there should be a grey bar below the toolbar where you can pin favourites.
I don't find its as straightforward as IE or safari but I don't use Chrome unless I'm having a problem with IE. I have both loaded just in case.

Ok, this is what I mean....go on IE and in the search, type Google, it gives you a page with a blank space to type in whatever you want, so if I type in there Frank Sinatra, I'll get loads of pages. My question is therefore, why install that Google bar when you can search Google and get it anyway? Google chrome doesn't come up with a home page like IE or Firefox with 'favourites' 'Bookmarks' at the top....it's just an effin search bar????
I don't have a spanner at the top of the page

By the way, might as well carry on here now, but for future reference the following thread is good for computer type questions like this one.

If you don't have a wrench/spanner you are NOT running Google Chrome. Download Chrome from the link I provided, install it, run it and you'll have your web browser. Right now it sounds like you're just running IE.

I did install Google Chrome and when I open it, it gives a blank bar that you have to type in what web you want. My point is, I can search Google on IE and get the same thing so why install it? There are no 'favourites' or 'bookmarks' at the top of the page, there's just a blamk space to type in what website you want
