I had probs with Moxilla Firefox, it froze each time I came out of Yahoo email. I have uninstalled it as someone said it has become 'buggy' and I now use IE as I used to do. Are there any others I can use, as IE is a bit slow? Someone said use Google Chrome but all it is, is a search bar!!?? Which one can just type in Google and get the search bar anyway
I hope it's OK to ask this on here!
Google Chrome is a full web browser, not a search bar.
Have you got a tool bar or not BB? If you have there's a drop down menu at the end. On mine its at the far right - little black arrow pointing down.
Click on that and it should give you a list of search engines. Select Google as the default. You can. I use IE as my main browser but Google for searchs.
She wants a browser to replace IE. Google Chrome is such a browser. A good one, too.
In that case her system should ask her what she wants to use as a browser if she's taken everything off her computer and give the option of about four different ones. Just select.
Not so sure about that as IE is difficult to remove. She just needs to download and install Chrome from here:
No, I haven't got a black arrow that gives a down menu of search engines. My point is, with Mozilla or IE, all I need do is type Google in search and it gives me the Google 'bar' if I want it; so why would I need to install Google Chrome? It just gives me a bar, not 'favourites' or 'bookmarks' so what is the point of installing it? Mozilla is a full site with toolbars at the top, like IE but more efficient. If I install it again now, it will be ultra efficient for a couple of days, far better then IE but then it starts freezing which makes me believe the people who are telling me it gets full of bugs.
I'm not sure how to get it but everytime I fiddle with my browsers my pc asks me whether I want to use IE as default or another browser. If it asks for another system select Google chrome.
(Sorry for the spelling. Got a mate smsing on yahoo.)
oh, ok I'll try that.

TRUST ME, GOOGLE CHROME IS A STANDALONE WEB BROWSER, NOT A MERE SEARCH BAR ADDON FOR BROWSERS LIKE IE AND FIREFOX. Did you try downloading from the link I posted?
