No threat, they looked absolutely rubbish; just, why? And that was the first two parter of the shows return! At times you can understand why people have a go at RTD. At least they haven't returned since, outside of the Sarah Jane show anyway; the Slitheen are very definitely kids show stuff.

Ahem, Boom Town?

I'll go with:

The Unquiet Dead
Dalek
Father's Day
The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
School Reunion
The Girl in the Fireplace
The Idiot's Lantern
The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
Blink
Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead
Planet of the Ood

Until compiling that list I had not realised a) how much the series was surviving on the goodwill from past glories, or b) how many of those past glories were down to Steven Moffatt (and to a lesser extent, Mark Gattis).

Ahem, Boom Town?

I meant since that first series.

As for the worst, Gridlock and Midnight were both rough, but Love and Monsters was just awful.

In your opinion of course. I mean my God man, you've got the Idiots Lantern as one of the top ten new episodes! Shows you how opinion varies from person to person.

IMO Boomtown is quite a good episode. The first half is passable, it's the second half where it picks up.

The only bits I like about Love & Monsters is where they use ELO and I hate ELO. Oh, and Shirley Henderson & Marc Warren because they're both good actors.

It's also interesting Keith Boak hasn't been asked back to direct, since there were so many disagreements when shooting the Slitheen episodes.

I loved the 'The Girl in the Fireplace' with Madame de Pompadour. Although I think they should've cast Jade Goody as Madame de Pompadom!

Seriously though, it was a great episode, fab costumes, love interest and the Doctor on a horse...What more could a girl ask for?

Where did you get it? I want one!

My then-girlfriend got it for me but she ordered it off the internet, it was just a t-shirt that you could get whatever you wanted printed on it. It's not an official t-shirt or anything.

Worst:

Fear Her
The Runaway Bride
The Voyage of the Damned
Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks
Last of the Time Lords
The Doctor's Daughter
The Unicorn and the Wasp
The Idiot's Lantern
The Stolen Earth/Journey's End
Planet of the Dead

Why are people so eager to post what they consider the worst episodes?! :D

In no particular order

Girl in the Fireplace
Dalek
The Empyy Child
Turn Left
That one where they take the piss out of Big Brother
Silence in the Library
The first 2 parts of the Master 3 parter.
Blink
Fathers day
The family of Blood

I'd like to remind everybody that this isn't the definitive Doctor Who thread, merely a temporary imposter.

Although it can't compare

I've given this thread a Bump as I'd be interested to hear peoples (Ok Godot's)
Best or worst episodes now that Matt Smith has had a Season & half almost, albeit on a possibly reduced budget.

In no order, and without thinking about it too much:

Time Of Angels/Flesh And Stone
Dalek
Human Nature two parter
Empty Child
The Eleventh Hour
Blink
Girl in The Fireplace
Midnight
The Impossible Astronaut
The Satan Pit

and without thinking about it too much:

Very much like your opinions in the official Doctor Who thread, then.
