Hairstyles

I may be getting Old.
But have Hairstyles gone a bit weird these days?
I'm more thinking of the Male ones.
I never liked that kind of short Spikey half Mohocan thing, or ones where the hair is gelled in a lopsided scruffy deliberate way.
But I've just seen one with a fringe that looks like a Bobby Charlton Comb over and deliberately so.

What do you think of some of the new modern hairstyles?

Cheryl Cole has just been sacked for looking like the Lion from the Wizard of Oz
Are new hairstyles causing more harm than good?

I'd shave it if I had my way. :D

In a word, or five, yes you are getting old. Bring back the beehive, I say.

I like all the crops & short hairstyles, they look good.
but I can't get along with some of the strange creations.

It's like all other fashion - you get programmed to think the latest thing is nice.

I hate the Justin Bieber style. But surely that's on its way out by now? Hopefully.

But once you've been programmed, then you can look more objectivley & hate everything that doesn't agree with your programming surely?

He was so cute that he just about got away with it.

He was a bit over-styled though, in general.

Basically I think we should all just let our hair grow, grow, grow, which is why I've never been to a hairdresser since 1973 ( plus the fact I thought hairdressers were incompetent crap).

Meh.

I did have a flat top when it was all the rage in the eighties, but I tend to go with a gelled back 50's type thing.
If I didn't gel my hair it'd go all straight & floppy & I'd look all Beatlish

You sound like my mum, whom I have to drag, kicking and screaming, to the hairdresser! People do seem to develop an aversion to hairdressers but they do make your hair look nicer.

I often wonder, when looking at 70's sitcoms, how anyone got laid? All that static on nylon sheets, you were like a fire hazard waiting to happen.

Tsk Rolling eyes Kids today eh?

Just the younguns trying to 'find themselves' and 'breaking away from convention' because they don't 'want to be pigeonholed into a stereotype/cliche/group'. Had it in the 80s with the punks (mowhawks), then in 90s with the grungers (long greasy unwashed), the noughties had the 'block-head' and now we're into the (does this decade have a name yet?) '10s' it's a proper mix of styles. In 50 years, the cats who had the mohawks will be moaning at the chumps who have shite hair in the 2060s

Just life I'm afraid, fashions come and go, language use changes. Look at it like a good thing, our culture is ever changing into a more diverse and interesting society. Embrace it :) ...Maybe even shave your head if you're feeling brave enough ;)
