I always find it odd when supporters say this when mid-table in the Prem. 19 years ago you were 13th in the third tier and have reclaimed a decent level of success with cup semi-finals and an extended run in the top flight.

With the best will in the world Bolton are never going to make the Champions League so the best the can hope for is a good cup run or a Europa League spot. Meanwhile my team have lost their league status - this is a team that really is going nowhere...

I don't understand what you mean

all is mean is we were near the bottom of the 2nd tier and having too sell off our best players due to massive debts I.e. In danger of heading toward the 3rd tier if not careful

then Sam took over and within about 2 years we were in the prem

it was a miracle and the guy will always be a legend in my eyes

what's wrong with that??

Sorry, I misread what you had written. I thought you were saying you were going nowhere NOW. Clearly that's not the case.

Apologies again.

no probs!that's why I was confused!

No, Bolton are a medium sized club and just being in the Prem is fantastic.

Things are as good as there gonna get for my club!

andthat's great cos my first game was against Bristol Rovers in front of about 2000 people

i never dreamt we would spend TEN seasons in the top flight

Insightful journalism from BBC's Phil Dawkes on the website . .

The reasons behind Birmingham's plight are simple: scoring too few goals and conceding too many.

Nice idea jack, I'll go:

1. Manchester City
2. Chelsea
3. Manchester United
4. Arsenal
5. Everton
6. Liverpool
7. Tottenham Hotspur
8. Fulham
9. Aston Villa
10. Sunderland
11. Stoke
12. Newcastle
13. Blackburn
14. Bolton
15. Wolves
16. Wigan
17. West Brom
18. West Ham
19. Birmingham
20. Blackpool

Just checking back on my pre-season predictions, I nailed the bottom three.

Let us never speak of the top half :)

It was all very tight this year wasn't it. Any team in the bottom 15 could have gone down, it was that close.

Sir Gobshite Ferguson was again grace itself when reviewing his season's glories.

Arsen Wenger has made abject failure the new success.

Chelsea look more and more like a nursery school for pampered and spoilt little billionaire's brats.

Gerard Houlier would rather die than go back to France, Kenny Dalgleish cashes in on his past glories and Harry Redknapp makes the old farts in charge of the FA regret saying Cappello's successor will be English. I'd put money On MaClaren getting the job again.

They think it is all over............

But it's not. Next Sunday I shall be travelling to Old Trafford to see my beloved Huddersfield Town play Peterborough in the 1st division play-off final.

Shame it's not Wembley but it is the result I will be more bothered about. Ironically Darren Ferguson (son of sir gobshite) is the manager of Peterborough so he might be sat in his fatha's spot.

But that is the only glory he will feel. :)

Not very close but not awfully far out in most cases

This was mine along with actual final positions...

1. Manchester United - correct
2. Tottenham Hotspur - 5th
3. Chelsea - 2nd
4. Manchester City - 3rd
5. Arsenal - 4th
6. Liverpool - correct
7. Everton - correct
8. Aston Villa - 9th
9. Sunderland - 10th
10. Birmingham - 18th
11. West Ham - 20th
12. Newcastle - correct
13. Bolton - 14th
14. Fulham - 8th
15. Stoke - 13th
16. Blackburn - 15th
17. West Brom - 11th
18. Wolves - 17th
19. Wigan - 16th
20. Blackpool - 19th

Four correct plus nine that were out by a single place - that's not too bad.

Birmingham and West Ham in mid-table and West Brom in the relegation zone were the only serious errors.

Who won the fantasy league BTW. As normal I entered my team and didn't change it once. Can someone post the standings?

Sorry - couldn't let this go. I'll just post and be off again.

What a load of sanctimonious hypocrites you reds are if you don't treat Giggs the same way you castigated John Terry. There is nothing different. They are both married man who shagged single women.

Yeah, but we always knew Terry was an arrogant c**t.

Chappers rage against what is, essentially, just a football team is quite something!
