Not Going Out - Series 4 Page 25

Nor am I exactly, but that could well be the popular view at some point, if not now. He has shot up in that list, and personally, I prefer his act to Mack's, even though I think it has a shorter shelf life. I'm wondering if this is the reason he may be pondering leaving Mack, to take full advantage of his rising star, so to speak. This kind of thing does happen.

But all that stuff about Vine wanting to leave NGO turned out not to be true.

All I'm saying is I'd happily sit through Lee Mack's shows, but after 10 minutes of Tim Vine's stuff and I'm looking for the remote. And I like one-liners, but they get a bit boring, whereas Lee is cheeky, funny and cocky, he is NGO to me.

I do also like Lucy, she's a good character and actor.

That was my point really, he hogs it so much perhaps the other comedian in it feels a bit obscured or outplayed? It was just a thought, and I thought it was true he thought about leaving.

NGO seems all about Lee Mack's ego to me, and as funny as it is, it is a poor sitcom.

I don't think that you can read too much into an interview that is a) meant to promote something else, and b) edited.

I don't think a live radio interview can be edited.

I wasn't referring to a radio interview.

We were.

Isn't NGO Tim Vine's biggest gig? Sure, he is not the main character, but it keeps his profile up, right?

Indeed so - presumably that is half of the reason he doesn't choose to leave.

"Mack is a panel show regular and has starred in four series of BBC1 sitcom Not Going Out, which will also return for a futher two series."

EDIT: Okay, a better article - http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/apr/27/not-going-out-bbc1-lee-mack

Two series??

Great, but.....why not one at a time?

Does anyone know exactly which episodes Andrew Collins is credited with co-writing on the show? Am I correct in thinking that he co-wrote all of the episodes in the first series and then has gradually written fewer and fewer since?

Also, does anyone else think there is a big difference between his episodes and everybody else's? Very often he seems to focus on warmth and nostalgia with episodes featuring crazy golf, commemorative World Cup mugs and Subbuteo. The episodes that he doesn't co-write tend to focus on drugs, porn and masturbation. :)

If only there was a website that provided useful episode-by-episode guides to this sort of thing...!

Apologies. As I mentioned in another thread, I haven't been able to view this site for a long time and so didn't realise that new shows have such in depth descriptions.
