regarding the similarity of brent and milman, i think it comes down to poor range of acting skills. Ricky played similar styles in night at the museum and stardust as well.

Stephen Merchant always steels the show for me.

I don't think he really considers himself an actor - and it's not Shakespeare where every line is exagerrated.

Brent the eternal optimist and Millman the pessimist and that's where difference ends - or at least it does to me.

... they are almost the Dickens of their time.

And here's the award for 'Most outlandish statement made in praise of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant 2007'. :P

Well that is the main theme of the whole second series too, not just this episode.

Was it? I dunno. I don't remember the few episodes of it I did watch.

Where were all the A-list stars? Don’t get me wrong I didn’t what to see any but this is all we’ve heard for months now and there was no-one, well George Michael but he pop up in just about everything.

This I found very distracting expecting to see some Hollywood tit popping up to do a three second cameo which ruined most of the show for me, however the last 5 minutes or so was great TV, I’ll give it a couple weeks and re-watch knowing no one going to pop up and trash it.

Did they all turn him down or were we being sold a bluff ?

Hey, Barry, I think your avatar brings home the true meaning of Christmas.

I think it's broken - it has a crack in it.

Clive Owens a hollywood star these days, and at the very least sitting within sight of the a-list.

If he doesn't consider himself an actor then he should just stick to the writing.

I don't think he is a bad actor, just limited.

I think he's a great actor.

Did anyone see him in Alias?

At the very best he could be a good actor. He's not great. He is also a good writer and comedian though.

Thankyou. This is so unexpected and there are so many people I'd like to thank. I shall treasure it, it will have pride of place next to my "Rudest carrot grown without interference 2005" award.

To be honest though I can be more outlandish (did you not think it was just a tad David Brentish though!)
;)
