Disgraceful example of asset stripping and exportation of British jobs.
BTW, a la Delia is to prick the potato and them roll it oil and salt before cooking. Gives a crispy skin.
Another Delia tip for the summer is balsamic vinegar on strawberries. Believe me, it works!

Just had one of my comfort foods, jacket potato a la Delia, inside scooped out and mashed with cheese and butter and diced ham added. Then under the grill until browned and served with Mr Branston's nice brown sauce. (Do not buy HP!)
Hp sauce is the king of brown sauces. Daddy's and Chef's are acceptable, but generic brown sauce is just

Also yum. Though as would be expected it works best with good balsamic vinegar and strawbs.
Just had some rhubarb fresh from the garden. It was green, but perfectly safe to eat.

Cooked an awesome (and healthy) Med casserole with chorizo, tomato, peppers and courgettes. And of course lovely flavourings. OM NOM NOM!
My girlfriend made a nice side dish of couscous with puy lentils in the other day. Was very nice indeed.

It's an extra special type of a casserole because all of the brown meaty juiciness is replaced with balsamicy and basily tomato. It's dead good for summer eats.
Yep, it certainly sounds it.
If you've got space, you should grow your own courgettes/toms/peppers etc. There is an added 'oooomph' when you are cooking some stuff that you've only picked 30 minutes before.
Dan's planted salad leaves, chillis and carrots in pots in the spare room. If we had a garden I'd grow most of my own veg. And have chickens. Sigh.

"snigger"
And I bet they need lots of light and heat to grow properly don't they?

The cats don't like my herb seedlings, the bastards. I've got terracotta pots full of cat poo. Bastardy bastards.

LOL.
You are wise to grow carrots indoors, though, Nat. That way you'll avoid the dreaded carrot fly bastards.
