You should try to get on Have I Got News For You or 8 Out Of 10 Cats or something. I hear the appearance fees for these panels shows are quite good, certainly enough to afford a few games.
I finished 'Portal 2' last week and LOVED it. It is a very original and amazing puzzle game. No shortage of fun there. I'm just waiting for PSN to sort itself out then I can get the last few trophies on it.
I'm also playing 'Mortal Kombat' which is fun in small doses and is very well made but you do get the feeling that you've 'been there and done that'.
One game which I keep on coming back to is 'Splatterhouse'. This one is a real treat. It's a straight forward smash up everything that moves sort of game but it has a very good combat engine, the story is well written / comic book like and the mask that narrates as you play along is very funny. I've got his voice as my text message tone. It's scared the crap out of a few people in its time. ;o)
Surely it's the original Portal that was original...
(Super) Street Fighter 4 is the only beat 'em up that matters.
I wouldn't mind checking out Splatterhouse at some point...

Splatterhouse on the MegaDrive was pretty good. I didn't realise they'd done a new one.
I never played the original Portal but they sound interesting so I might pick up Portal 2 or the Orange Box at some point and give them a go.
