One of my friends I'm certain had undiagnosed dyslexia, and that was the mid-90s. I only realised when she moved away and wrote me letters. It was unbelieeeevable that no teacher had noticed.
School Reports Page 2
I was diagnosed with a none specific learning disability.
Another report said Judi Dench would do well except she kept daydreaming out the window
My history teacher said something along the lines that I would get more work done if I stopped watching the boys play rugby out of the window.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ May 9 2011, 8:56 PM BSTI often had things along the lines of 'Has the ability, but doesn't apply himself properly'; which is as true now as it was then. They were basically calling me bright but lazy.
This was pretty true of me. My A-level History teacher described me as 'the master of summary' which was quite a nice way of saying I wrote as little as possible.
Not a school report but.....
I managed to have a peek at my personal file in our HR department a few years ago. The record of my final interview said "A rather dour young man, but he'll do"

Quote: Griff @ May 9 2011, 10:19 PM BST'this child is flippant'.
How could they possibly get you so wrong Griff?
Quote: Griff @ May 9 2011, 10:19 PM BSTI got interviewed by the careers officer at my school (when the local educational authority used to employ such persons) and when all the other kids got a full page of cretinous ill-advised guidance out of it, I just got 'this child is flippant'.
Will he pick my Euromillions numbers for tomorrow for me.

During a talk on careers, the teacher went around the class asking everyone in turn what they wanted to become, one of my more outspoken classmates said 'a prostitute'
The main thrust of most of my reports was 'too easily led'.
"Tendency to daydream"
My reports for every class, every year said exactly the same thing. High natural ability but unwilling to apply herself. Basically I was a lazy f**king child genius. Which is true now, except for the genius bit.
