I see uber-hypocrite Andrew Marr hasn't resigned Page 4

Well I certainly didn't vote for myself. Nor likely to. So that can;t be right either.

And I remember a referendum on AV, but not one on whether The News of The World could post lurid pictures of love cheats for the sordid pleasure of jaded individuals. I must have been on holiday that Thursday. :)

No, but others did, enough for them to become law and be insinuated into the fabric of the State. That is democracy. Good afternoon for now, as I have some trifles to attend to.

I kinda see what Alfred is saying about the newspapers, in that they print what sells the most copies, so they are pretty in tune wig what the simpering masses want. Tabloids certainly.

What I DON'T agree with is the papers obligation to 'out' those who have philandered. You must remember you are not just punishing a cheat and a liar, but punishing everyone involved in their life; the partner who doesn't want their marital problems read by her neighbours, the sons and daughters who have to go to school the next day, the parents and family who may feel judged for their poor parenting. Most if jot all of those people will be completely innocent and still suffer greatly.

Typing on phone- please forgive my sketchy grammar, spelling and syntax.

I tire of these stupid, petty little news story that do nothing and shrink the world a little.

The only people survive are the serial shameless like Jordan.

That these snarky nasty little scream sheets have tits on page3 and moral judgement on page1.

It's wrong and we should be better than that.

Yeah but that's a bullshit argument. I have seen Sparticus Sands of the Arena - and I love it. I don't think it should be allowed in Wembley nowadays. Much as the crowds back in Ancient Rome loved it.

Yeah that's all very well, but without Ian Hislop who is to guide us in our moral judgements?

Me :) Oh and the pope :(

True, true. :D

Eurgh, please don't think I'm defending the trash rags! But I'm afraid I can't ignore the fact that they are the making of the populace. If enough people didn't watch The Only Way is Essex, then they wouldn't make it. It's grim but it's true.

I just hope they don't name the woman involved in the Andrew Marr scandal, she's been through enough. Sick

How sexist! For all any of us know, the woman in question is an even more desperate munter, who's actually done very well in punching above her weight!

It's difficult to picture...

Nobody seems to have mentioned that question yet.

Remember? That Question.

That's the reason many people are calling Marr a hypocrite now. Because he had the nerve to ask Gordon Brown about the internet rumors he was constantly tranqued up on painkillers, invading his privacy, back in '09.

I personally think Marr (and his editor, who would have had the final say) should not have asked that question about internet rumours. It was admittedly a cheap shot. However, the question of whether or not the Prime Minister of Great Britain is taking potentially mood-altering/addictive substances is to an extent more in the public interest than whether or not a journalist is f**king someone other than his wife.

Oh, I agree entirely.

Just wanted to bring some context to this ridiculously meandering thread.

Jesus, carry on down that sensible route and the next thing you know we'll start having moderators on here!
