Yes or No to the AV Vote? Page 14

Tomorrow night!

I voted YES in the referendum, and a big NO to both the yes and no campaigns. What a load of twonk.

Then again, a herd consisting of dumb animals will often sense danger and act collectively stronger than a single dumb animal acting alone...

Unless they are being driven over a cliff, in which case those at the front are powerless to prevent themselves from plunging to disaster.

According to the BBC, the turnout for the AV poll was higher than expected, ranging from just over 50% in Scotland to around 35% in London. Interestingly, the SNP, who are the party which has done the most well in the election, support AV.

It is also rumoured that the voting system used for the Holyrood elections is as it is because the Westminster government believed that it wouldn't be possible to achieve a majority under it.
Nice one Alex. ;)
Next stop - referendum on full independence.

AV results due @ 8pm. I'm still waiting for my lcoal council. I want to know if it made the slightest difference my delivery hundreds of elections addresses.

So whatever your council does that you don't agree with in the next twelve months . . keep your trap shut.

But why should I vote for one of the 5 candidates if they don't mean anything to me? Just for the sake of it?

In my town (Stockton), Labour were just one short of winning control. Tories and Lib Dems lost one each, others lost three.

Who cares it's all the same conspiracy.

News just in - AV assassinated at referendum !

It was shot through the head by majority indifference which left a huge exit wound through Nick Cleggs' ego. Due to the sensitivity of this issue the coalition government will not be releasing any pictures as it may result in people becoming unnecessarily cheerful.

And the people of the UK say - no because the yes vote can not now achieve the 50% threshhold.
How do they know that if they haven't finished counting yet?

Today's result goes a fair way in helping to explain why Labour were a) too scared to call a referendum on the EU and b) too scared to call a referendum on English political devolution.

For the next referendum, can we have a vote on whether Eddie Izzard should be told in no uncertain terms to f**k off and stick to comedy/acting?

And on TV, already the 'Yes' campaigners bleating about the result...

I wonder how long its going to take for Chris Huhne to assassinate Clegg? He's got to be removed before its even close to the next election for the LibDems to stand a bare chance of surviving. We had three LD councillors yesterday. Now we have none and it was recognised that they all had done a good job but they were LibDems and held accountable for what is happening nationally.

The Libdems conduct since they 'came into power' is shameful.

Bunch of liars.

Hopefully they are finished as a political party for a good 50 years or so.

In a straight fight between Tory and Labour in the next general election hopefully people will see sense and kick the tory scum out once again.

I wonder if there was a subliminal message to vote 'no' within the ballot paper itself. The voter had to put a cross against either 'yes' or 'no'. We are all conditioned to think that a 'tick' is positive and a cross is negative, so to put a cross against 'yes' might feel contradictory.

No.
