Sorry, you lost me?

All the best,
Cal :)

It's going to be shown around the British Isles as opposed to just Scotland.

Ah gotcha! .. on reading back, if made perfect sense.

Well, that's Burnistoun all done and dusted for Series 2. Unfortunately, not too many lasting moments.

So, taking the good bits, what would you include in your favourite sketches?

I'll take a closer look back at episodes, but these make the list:

1) The Folk Singer in the Pub
2) The Wee Cupboard
3) Toshie and McGregor (all sketches)
4) Biscuity Boil (most sketches)
5) 'Ave heard it
6) jist tell me wan hing you've done!
7) Bond Sketch (1st sketch about suppers etc)
8) £14.20 - Two Guys Dinners sketch

Think that's my lot ... with no material from Episodes 5,6.

All the best,
Cal :)

Numbers 1, 5 and 6 were brilliant.

I liked quite a few of the skecthes from Episode 6.

The 'Denim Jaiskit' was hilarious, 'Blind date' made me Laughing out loud and 'Fat friend' was brilliant. Loved the 'Fleetwood Mac' end too.

I hope they get another series commissioned, as I loved the majority of the skecthes, even the overly long ones had a good idea. They are refreshing different and very funny.

I heard in an interview with Robert Florence that Channel 4 want them to do a sketch show for them called The Bold Connell and Florence. I thought episode 6 was probably the best of the series. The Blind Date sketch was brilliant.

Just caught up with the whole series on iPlayer catch-up. Despite not being quite as good as the first series, it's still my favourite sketch show on telly, I'd say.

However, the sketches were overlong in a lot of cases and the punchlines were disappointing to those particular sketches, mainly because I was thinking 'this is going to have a really good pay-off' and then it doesn't. Case in point the (very enjoyable) 'Tell me something you've done in the last fifteen years' sketch, but no big punch.

That said the hits were very, very funny. Loved the 'Blind Date' sketch from the last episode and the £14.20 overreaction was excellent. In fact, that's something the guys do *really* well: massive overreactions to minor things.

On the whole, I'm glad they're still continuing to write this but also have that C4 show. And I'm glad all that stuff will get a run on BBC3 as it's hard to track down down here. That's why Gary: Tank Commander passed me by completely.

Couldn't agree more!!!! ... I think that could become their mark/signature!

It goes without saying, these lads are talented. I'd just like to see developing characters in a future series, rather than a flicker pad of "one off" sketches.

All the best,
Cal :)

P.S. On 2nd viewing, yes! the blind date sketch was pretty good too.

There was nothing as good as this series one sketch. My favourite Burnistoun sketch and also one of my favourite sketches ever.

Loved this on BBC 2, Thursday nights recently.

It's incredible...well, apart from the ice cream van characters which I always skip through.

Quality polis!

Series 3 starts filming in the new year . . .

Mr Florence is currently trying to shed a few pounds before filming starts . . .

Hei,

I was really trying to find out the name of the guy that appears in Episode 1 from Series 1. The guy who's dead in the coffin. Does anyone knows?

Fairly new to the forum so just catching up on some posts.

Burnistoun, well its a bit hit and miss. Some sketches go on too long and just not funny, some are hilaarious. A bit like most Scottish sketch shoes, Absolutely for example. Some great characters, Gilhooly, Stoneybridge and the posh strict family.

The best sketch and one that is most discussed on Burnistoun was the bottle of Jinga sketch. This was filmed about 100 yards from my house and I saw some of it being filmed, quality sketch

Series 3 of this starts on BBC Scotland in a couple of weeks: https://twitter.com/robertflorence/status/230739529303203840

Great news! BBC1/2 Scotland is hidden somewhere near the top of your EPG on VirginMedia/Sky channels.

BBC1 Scotland is 862 on VirginMedia.
