They didn't shoot him. They obviously shot some people but he wasn't amongst them. He died years ago. Wake up.

Never took you for a conspiracy theorist Godot.

Lots of stuff in the news that he was unarmed when he got shot

I imagine most of those in the twin towers were unarmed too!

I dunno this is America and all

All the Americans would have had guns aplenty on them. It's their constitutional right. (apparently to possess a gun you have to wear a short sleeved shirt - the right to bare arms).
>_<

Badoooooomtish!

I'm getting ready to drive to New Orleans in a few minutes for the jazz festival and debating whether I should bring a pistol. I'd definitely feel safer in that city with a handgun but you can't carry one while you're drinking so it seems like a moot point. Hopefully I'll be luckier than Ray Davies.

In sane countries, that statement sounds utterly mental.

Ever walked the streets of New Orleans at night?

you could just take a tazer, or a brick in a sock?

They aren't much use against an attacker with a gun.

If it's that dangerous in your country, you're best staying at home. Inside.

Well neither's a gun really unless you're wandering around with it drawn.

You could wear a martyrdom vest?

I have actually. I wound up at this chick's place after promising her I did a great David Bowie impression (bald-faced lie: I once did a pretty good rendition of 'Power of the Babe' but that was a total one-off). We watched a bit of Spongebob on the telly then went to her bedroom, where she had a rubber gas mask hanging off the bedpost. I had to catch an early flight the next morning so made my exit at about 4am. Can't say I saw any bother, and that was Mardi Gras time too. Personally I've not been anywhere I'd have felt safer with a gun, and I lived in a pretty rough part of Durban for a while. I don't know, maybe you feel the fear more when you're used to carrying a weapon around.

In fairness, Dave, wasn't that the night you wound up getting gang-raped by a bunch of negroes?

Well yes, but I felt safe the whole time.
