Not you as well putters........
I do have MacBook Pro though.
And I don't want an iPad/Pod/Phone, either!
Ohhh I think you'll find you do
Best £150 I've ever spent.
Do you realise I am typing this on my iPod while I am emptying my bowels on the lavvy?
Don't tell me that isn't cool as f**k
Get with the program dude - it is the 90's after all.
Just read that I can either get an iPhone on T-Mobile for £13 a month or buy one on PAYG for £400.......

So if you plan on having it for more than 30 months. Buy it.
Alternatively buy a SIM-free Android phone and then a SIM only PAYG. Means you don't get any of the branding people like Orange stick on the phone. HTC Desire SIM free is £294 from amazon for instance.
Do you get the apps and shit on non-Apple smartphones?
One way you get Apple as your Big Brother, the other way you get Google as your Big Brother.
Easy choice ennit?
Yup, there is a very large selection of apps (most of them free) for android phones. Worth checking out here https://market.android.com/ before you buy though.
Ta.
Just reading up on smart phones. Ugh. It is soo confusing. I WILL NOT go into a mobile phone shop, though.
Don't have to get a phone
I have an iPod Touch
Brilliant bit of kit.
We've had the fake security alert virus, called Vista Antispyware 2011. In trying to get onto the web with that computer, I tried starting it in safe mode, at which point Windows asked if I wanted to use system restore to 'repair errors'. I did this, and now there's no sign of the virus doing its annoying business any more. I've run AVG ad Spybot, but they haven't found anything. Surely the virus must still be there somewhere? There are manual ways to seek it out and get rid of it, but they come with the warning that I'd need to have good skills to attempt it. I've looked on the Task Manager and found things like csrss.exe there, but while some claim it's a trojan and should be removed, others say it's an important thing which is needed ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090526163917AAVSa2T )
There are also downloads which claim will remove this threat, but presumably I'll need to pay for them.
What should I do?
Jut to add to previous discussion- as an iPhone user, I say get a HTC Android phone. The best is HTC Desire HD, my fella has that. Previous model of Desire is also good if you're not concerned about the latest model. I think HTC wildfire also gets good feedback but doesn't have as many bells and whistles as desires.
Nogget, I had somethin very similar. Mine went away when I booted in safe mode and ran a full virus scan, and that was my work computer so I had no admin rights. If a scan doesn't find anything it's probably been dealt with by the restore, the files are generally quite easy to spot for virus scanners as they read as malware and sometimes have tracking cookies associated.
