First Two Posts on BCG, I'm Accused of Stealing

All,

I posted two parody news articles I wrote and was immediately blasted that I was stealing someone's work.

I'm new to the site, so I thought responses would come to my yahoo mail. I was wrong and have now subscribed to my own threads to keep an eye on them.

I came back six days after I posted to discover that I had been accused of stealing someone's work. So those comments had gone unanswered! People viewing my work must have thought that the accusers were right!

We all take pride in our work, and having people accuse me of ripping someone off without first expressing concern seems to me pretty wrong.

The thing about forums is that there is a lot of banter and threads can easily be hijacked with truths or lies.

You're amongst friends here, though.

I've been on a few forums over the years......all of them have had 'banter' but most of them have members who go too far and start accusing you of all sorts or threatening to murder you because you don't like Beyonce, or something. But, from my limited experience of BCG.......there is banter, but it never gets personal or goes over the top.

It's just one 'person' causing a stink for their own amusement. There's really nothing you can do to stop it I'm afraid, it's been going on for years. You've asserted yourself in any case so my advice would be to simply ignore any further comments from that particular poster.

With the Batman one you were only accused of using something that was on your very own site.
Which explained it all immediately.
And showed that people have actually been looking at your site, which is no bad thing.

Click the 'Report' button under any post and explain your issue with it, it will then be checked over by a moderator.

Consider yourself lucky you were only accused of plagiarism! In my first week on the BCG I was accused of people trafficking, being the ringleader of a Satanic paedophilia ring and of owning a box set of Carla Lane's 1990s sitcom Luv. Like you, I was hurt and bewildered, but I eventually came to forgive and forget about those first two...

This satirical piece is clearly plagiarising a piece I previously wrote.

I remember Renegade Carpark tried to steal my entire personality. But could never get it quite right.
