If you get caught drink driving the punishment should be life in prison and a life time ban from driving. You've gone out there with the intent to drive and so willfuly put other peoples lives at risk and if you don't kill anyone that is just good luck nothing more.

I agree. The punishments in this country fit the crime less and less. So what if there's too many people in prison. Cram them together in the cells - 4 in a 2 man cell if necessary. The culprits know that they'll never be punished adequantely - there's no real deterent - or detergent - that would be better.

I could never ever live with myself if I ever caused an injury or a death for being an idiot. I wont take the car for the risk of thinking that after 2 beers I will be alright to drive.

Soft drinks are way to expensive. I was charged £1.70 for a soda water.

Not that prison cells are full Dave, they're mostly understaffed and certain grades of prisons get more crowded than others.

My wife works in a prison so I know a bit about it. But we are too soft on criminals. Bloody human rights. You forfeit them once you break the law.

I won't argue with inside knowledge, When I'm getting most of my information on prison life from The Sun, I barely trust myself.

In Peterborough, if you're the designated driver and you show your car keys you get free soft drinks. Does that happen anywhere else?

I didn't say I talk to my wife. I read the Sun too.

Is that actually true? I spend a lot of time in Peterborough and I've never heard of that.

That's what I heard at the weekend; may not be true but worth checking out.
