A plea for poor wee KP.

Guantánamo Bay, Kosovo, Darfur, Palestine...There have been many inhumanities to man over recent years. But I don't think I am overstating the point when I say that your treatment of Kent Pete over the last few days has been nothing short of barbarous. Reflect if you will over the events of the last 48 hours.

I have wee Kent here with me at the moment. He is inconsolable God Bless him. Snivelling into his hankerchief, it's the most I can do to stop him drinking again.

Well I hope you are all happy now. You have got rid of the one of the few talent's to emerge from this site and he now plans to take his writing skills elsewhere [possibly Denmark]. I have known this brave man for many years. He is too much of a gentleman to slag you all off in person, infact as I type he is begging me to wish you all the best for the festive season.

I shall do my utmost to raise his broken spirits and repair his shattered confidence over the next few weeks . God knows that will not be easy. If you could see what I could see now you would not be able to live with yourselves. It's not pleasant I can assure you. [I'm not even too sure it's legal]

Yet again the pack mentality has won and individual brilliance has been sacrificed.

Anyway I was informed on why KP was banned he had 2 accounts on the same IP address and that is strictly against the forum rules.

KP was disqualified for voting for his own work...

The forum has paid and established writers on this site. And a wealth of fine talent, I won't take comments badmouthing any of the writers or the site as people work damn hard to make this site what it is.

As for KP returning no doubt it will be discussed by the mods, but it's not up to me to decide.

Unfortunately for Kent Pete he will only ever be able to 'think' that he's funny.

I have crossed swords with KP various times (mainly on 4laughs) where he also had two accounts I believe... It was pretty obvious and we all had a laugh about it!

I was/am also "Ritchie Hamstring" on 4laughs (one of my characters wot I play with mediocrity) and although I make no apology for having two accounts, I can't see why anyone would legitimately hold two accounts unless it was for a gag, which is why I have mine.

If it's a BSG rule that you can't have two accounts, then fair enough and obviously it's despicable to use your second account to vote for your own work, even if the BSG Weekly Sketch comp is just a bit of fun (it being "just a bit of fun" has been stated repeatedly by the mods whenever there is a dispute... ).

However, I think a total ban on KP is a bit OTT. I think his Caroline Mack account should be closed and he should be allowed to post on BSG but be banned from the Weekly Comp for 3 months!

Anyway, Caroline Mack liked my stuff so she can't have been all bad!

Our gain is Denmarks loss.

Frankie, you are ofcourse a darling of a man. So nice to see someone rising above the pack mentality and bringing some objectivity to this. I believe that you are slightly older than the majority of subscribers to this site and I must say that your maturity is shining like a beacon in this rather taudry affair.

My dear pal Kent Pete is, as I said in my earlier post, in bits about his disqualification. The 10 points he amassed in the competition brought gave him a sense of purpose . To be honest he hasn't really achieved very much in his life and this small recognition of his talents meant so very much to him.
[Did you know, he actually had a T Shirt with the number 10 printed on it]. He was so proud.

And now what for my fat little friend ?. Moreover who will get his points ?. They will probably give them arbitrarily to Leevil / Baumski or someone. I only hope they acknowledge that they have ruined a Christmas and may Jehovah forgive them for that.

I'd just to make clear that neither Kent Pete nor Caroline Mack are necessarily permanently banned...And saying whether something is a bit of fun or not is entirely up to the individual.

Frankie, I do hope you and Paul O Grady aren't forming your own clique or anything...

No Zoo, I am just here to defend my pal , who as I type is sobbing into his Dandelion and Burdock.

Frankie does have a very valid point. Kent Pete is like many others on this site who believe getting to the top of the Comedy ladder will somehow get them noticed. I'm sorry but all this, " Just a bit of fun ", is nonsence. If it was Kent and Caroline would have been smacked on the wrists, exposed and laughed at. But banning them for fecksake. How "precious" is that. Some people cheat and get 50 points and it's all a bit of laugh , KP gets banned for getting 1 !!!. Come on, if you are gonna have a proper competition,[which it is] you have to get things in proportion.

And just to clear this up once and for all , they are not the same person. They do admittedly live together [and knowing KP he probably threatened to put the rent up if Macca didn't vote for him] but for a competition that's a 'bit of fun', an over reaction has taken place.

Comedy is full of ego's. Whether that's competition between the great's like the Pythons or Gervais and Merchant, or whether its at this level, everyone wants to be the funniest. So please drop this veneer of, 'it not really mattering' and be more honest with one another. It matters to you all and unfair alliances happen. In many ways Bushbaby had a point !!.

And for what it's worth Charles E. Lawley's entry had most potential this week.
