Being held ransom by the wee fox again. It comes and stares at us through the doors till we put (more) food out. It actually behaves like a dog. I expect it to sit up and beg.

Aww. He loves you now.
If you go away on holiday he will come to the window and be sad, and wonder where his new friends have goned. :(

I have no clue if to take either. I was so shocked!

Is the oven hot enough? Did you use enough baking soda?

My oven's shit. Used plenty of baking powder. The recipe book said 25 minutes at 180 but it took 40 minutes before it was finally done. Even then it was still a bit gooey inside but the missus said she likes it like that.

Did you put the cake in the right size tin? Again, it will make a difference.

I think that was my error. On further reading the recipe, it was supposed to be split between two tins, but I only used one.

Still, I might have created a new type of cake, the "Outwardly Crispy Incorporating Surprisingly Molten Middle". Wife seemed to enjoy. I also served it up with some whipped cream, which at the last moment I sprinkled with some crushed-up chocolate cookies. She liked that as well. I think I'm becoming a Feeder.

I just walked past one of our local ones on the park, tried to stare him out, he didn't seem interested.
The only one I like is the three legged one that I haven't seen in a while.
They keep messing up my plants or leaving footprints on the car the cunning little Tossers.

If you're looking for a quick n easy cake to rustle up, then look no further then these words: Microwavable cake.

Okay, sounds wrong. But if you like things that cook at microwave speed it's great. Sometimes you can get a pretty decent normal looking cake out of it. Great with custard or could work well with whipped cream too. It is just a quick indulgent pudding, I don't think you could get away with a wedding cake size one.

Google it.

This is what masterchef will be like in a year or two if the coalition keeps cutting spending.

Yes, cus as we all know Masterchef is a major drain on the budget. Don't even get me started on Ready, Steady, Cook!

It's just called Cook now

So they're never ready or steady? Too much pressure in that kitchen.

:D

:) Two blue tits are nesting in my wall! could watch all day! but so is cat.

Chip didn't sleep a wink last night and spent the early hours going from one bedroom to another desperately trying to find somewhere to get some kip. :(

Was your lady snoring?

Ben is off to the library later to take back 'The Kraken Wakes'. I'm almost paralysed by the excitement of what literary treat I'll bring back.
