it's mixed in with the comedy, as they tell each other why they want cosmetic surgery. Then at the end none of them do as the surgeon is killed in a car crash on the way to hosp. So they then justify why they're glad they didn't have it done anyway.
One introduces herself as 'I'm here for the full Monty'..i.e....facelift, chinlift, eyebrows, lips plumped up etc....but I'm telling you the plot hahaha

But it might be worth just having a crack at an alternative abreviated 15 minute version? Get the old knife out and cut cut cut! What have you got to lose?

Well not really BB you are describing women sitting around talking about their looks etc. And telling us stuff. What is the plot? Maybe we can boil it down to fifteen mins for you? What happened in steaming? Was it a similar thing or was there a strong narrative throughline?

Is that a line from one of the surgeons in BB'S play - encouraging a reluctant patient?

You're too sharp for your own good, Marc. ;)

Lol.

On a proper note, just wondered what the attraction of an all woman cast is, and if it is usually women writers or producers/directors etc who like them. I have written monologues with an all woman cast :) But certainly haven't thought about plays or film scripts or sitcoms with an all woman cast, or men come to that. I guess Porridge worked quite well mind. Steptoe and Son, Hancock. Not sure of anything recent springing to mind.

It's difficult to explain Marc but it's not just sitting round talking about looks, all of them have hang ups/problems/love life probs and one of the characters is such a bitch, the others start on her.

They're 70/56/40/18 years old and I wrote it specially because women don't have writers writing for them; especially 70 year olds. :D The 70 yr old is doing it for her toy boy :D 56yr old for her husband that's gone off with a young girl, the 40yr old is doing it for men, the 18 yr old for her married with four kids, boy friend.
Near the end the 40yr old says.....''Any road, why did I even think of having mi tits enlarged, just so that men can fiddle about with 'em'' :)

Couldn't you ditch the others and just have something about the 70 year old?

hm, good idea, I'll try tonight :)

Well what is the act structure? Focus on one character and break it down into her story, make her the protagonist and give that one three acts. That might cut it to 15 mins.
Can't remember is it supposed to be six actors in it??

four

Well you can have the surgeon, the woman's gay partner and one other patient for example. Doesn't all have to be the patients. But you have already written it so -that's probably not helpful.

Have got my email saying I'm in the pending pile. Good luck to everyone else.

Hang on. Closing date is tomorrow and they've already sifted?

I suppose they can't sift a submission that's not be sent. Maybe people aren't subbing much at the moment?

Possibly too many bank holidays. Anyway, sent mine off late last night.

Did any other rejectees from this get a reminder about Royal Court's competition for Asians? The thought was there, I suppose, but not very helpful for us Caucausians...
