*resists temptation to post Gyles Brandreth + Roscoff photo again*

I was going to but couldn't find a decent version of it. :D

Gyles is a funny guy, much under-rated.

Dame Edna is superb, as were Hinge and Bracket.

All agreed.

Gyles Brandreth and I share the same birthday: March 8th.

I wouldn't describe Hinge & Bracket's Gala Evenings as a sitcom!

And yes, I think you do need to know the songs.

I didn't mean to type the second 'was'.

It was 1.19 am after all ! (Damn Biere du Belgique!)

I put in that second 'was' because it didn't make sense without, and assumed that that was your meaning!

I enjoyed Hinge & Bracket. "I must call teddy"

I recently got Dear Ladies on DVD and really like it, but I personally prefer their radio stuff.

Can't understand why you can't get 'Random Jottings' or 'Enchanting World of' on CD.

Anyone know if you can get recordings of those series?

I have three or four albums currently over on the comedy record strand somewhere up there. I do think their audio only output was their best. It really was the medium they excelled in, the characters they played really did rely on that suspension of disbelief and total immersion in a strange made-up world that can only be delivered by radio.

Not legally you can't, no.

I found this in the very large Oxfam in Rochester at the weekend. A quid well spent! Hinge and Bracket - 'Dear Ladies':

Bargain!

I liked Hinge and Bracket

:D I once attended a 'comedy' night featuring 'Plug and Socket' maybe a copy of the afformentioned, but very rude! Wonder what happened to them?

Did you ever see them live?

The audience was a right mix. People like like us who knew what was going on, gay blades and little old ladies who thought that they were little old ladies singing 'nice songs'.
