Nat is confused.
Oh! So that's what that song was about. Page 3
I know this will continue, but ok if it amuses the guys, however they are now 'old biddies' you should look and be scorned.
Would you go and stay now?, doubt it
Quote: Steve Sunshine @ April 10 2011, 10:18 PM BSTHave you ever been listening to a song that you may have heard a few times before..
And suddenly you concentrate on the lyrics and think Oh! I get it now.I was listening to 24 Hours from Tulsa properly.
I thought he loved some girl in Tulsa that he was 24 hours away from.Turns out he was a day away, and got shacked up with some girl in a hotel stop
Was leaving his missus & wanted to apologize in song.
You're never really more than 24 hours from anywhere on earth now. Except maybe Antarctica.
Quote: AngieBaby @ April 10 2011, 10:30 PM BSTI always thought Gordon LightFoot's 'If I could read your mind' was a beautiful love song... then I really listened to the words...
'If I could read your mind love
What a tale your thoughts could tell
Just like a paperback novel
The kind that drugstores sell
When you reach the part where the heartaches come
The hero would be me
But heroes often fail
And you won't read that book again
Because the endings just too hard to take'
I thought it was "If you could read my mind".
It is
That's the second verse.
How about "You're gorgeous" by Babybird.
Barbara Streisands homage to helicopter blades "The Way We Whirr" always confused me

Older women need loving, too, y'know. Thora Hird never looked sexier than when she was in her stairlift
A big loving shaft to you tonight for thinking of us biddies! <3
I bet you don't look a day over 29, dellas.
Yeah, for years I listened to Tales From Topographic Oceans by Yes. I was convinced that little Jonny Anderson was telling me something profound through the medium of his mystical lyrics.
It was only when I grew up that I realised that they were in fact cack. True, it was pretty nice-sounding cack, but cack nevertheless.
Well then, can anybody enlighten me as to whether 'Band of Gold' is about an impotent bridegroom, or did he just change his mind about her and bugger off right after the wedding?

Gosh anyone would think I'm an old minger!
'Crazy for being so lonely'
Quote: Leevil @ April 10 2011, 11:19 PM BSTIsn't 'Wonderful Tonight' about a fella in a wheelchair?
"I've got an aching....leg"
What about "If I could do it all over again I'd do it all over you" by Caravan. I don't think those words feature in the song at all.

I believe he wrote his lyrics just for the sound of the words, so the meaning was as unimportant as things like "do-wop sha dooby doop".
