Radio Rejects-writing opportunity Page 16

There was lots of laughter indeed! Can I just remind everyone to get us sketches this time by 25 April? I know it's difficult with Easter and all, sorry. Thanks to those who have alraedy started sending in sketches. The nice thing about the last show is that we had lots of new stuff, so keep it coming! The next show is 4 May so hope to see you all there!

Sorry, for anybody new to this thread, the addresses are lydia.parker27@gmail.com
and maureen@oakeley.freeserve.co.uk. Thanks!

People reluctant to submit sketches? Are they feeling okay?

Possibly being gnawed by a rather pathetic critic in critique

Could it just be that there hasn't been much apart from Newsjack to get rejected from recently?

How did last night go? Did anyone go?

I went and it was amazing! We had Frank Horrocks filling in for Dave McKusker who was filling in for our regular, Dan Carter Hope. Dan was off in Istanbul doing a gig, Dave got an advert in Prague at the last minute, but Frank was brilliant. Marc recorded it again so we'll see how the quality came out.

Just a note, I know lots of you live outside of London, but if you can it would be great for you to come along and support us. It's a great opportunity to not only hear your work and those of your colleagues but to meet other writers. The Albany is a lovely venue but we pay a small fortune to rent it each month. The actors get paid nothing and are doing it for love. If we want to keep this thing running we need to get a sizeable audience in every time and to spread the word. So, even if you can't get there yourself, help us by sending your cousin or your dog or someone who will laugh loudly and frequently. And just because you don't have a sketch on yourself that night doesn't mean you won't at some point. And you'll still have a good night out!

Just two shows left, 1 June and 6 July, so get the dates in your diaries, book your babysitters and come join us then! And send us more sketches please!

A huge thank you as always to all the writers who submitted stuff and a massive thank you to the writers who came last night! (You know who you are!)(Tim, Peter, Stu, Marc and Rob.)

This was the first time I had submitted; I wish I had become involved sooner. Apart from being a wonderful chance to learn from seeing your own and others sketches performed by a very talented cast, it is also a really fun evening in an excellent venue and a chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones. It would be a terrific shame if it was to fold from a lack of support.

Yes
I'm sorry that I haven't attended or submitted for the last two.
But I really enjoyed it & will definitely make it the next time

I too have been a bit preoccupied with Life, the Universe and Everything but this is a great opportunity and I do enjoy listening to the clips that Marc puts up from the shows. I will use my best endeavours (sorry, bit of lawyer speak there) to get to the next show and bring a few friends with me.
Glad to know it went well.

I have been to. three of these and can honestly say I laughed loads each time - and moreso when I didn't have anything in it. It's simply a fun night if you like comedy, you don't have to be a writer. The big bonus for writers is having stuff performed well.

Does anyone know the deadline for the next show?

Did anyone record the latest sketches?

The deadline for the next show is the 27th May. Thanks! And thank you everyone for all the lovely comments about the show. We certainly do want to continue next year but need your support!

I got a recording and they're much better than last time - barring the occasional thump as my recorder fell over on the wobbly table we were sitting at and the fact that it picked up frequent sniffing due to hayfever.

Unfortunately my website is refusing to let me upload the mp3s again for some reason.

It took about 12 attempts to get this one up there.

I'll keep trying to get it to work, otherwise I'll try to email the sketches to their respective owners.

Could I please get the recording of the Protestor march sketch. Thanks for recording the show again.
