There are loaddddddddds of daffodils out around here. And lots of white, yellow and purple crocuses in the garden. And white snowdrops! Is vey vey pretty.

Snap, but it makes me depressed when I get into central London for uni. No flowers there!

Aw. They should put up some hanging baskets!
(With booby traps on them if anyone tries to vandalise.)

Hello.....

As said in A.N Other Fred, I am a gardener and grow 100s of plants each year from seed. I do grow mostly ornamentals (i.e. flowers) but, I always make room for a few bits of veg such as spuds, onions, cabbages and swedes. My allotment is 75% flowers, though.

Here are some of the Maris Peer I grew in 2009:

Anyhow, I shall be adding stuff to this thread over the coming season.

My bluebells are up, the wallflowers are in bloom, the tulips are bursting and the cherry tree is blossomed up.

Would anyone like to see my sprouts?

Thems potatoes look TopBanana!

I grow grapes every year - and outside - and oop north

I do shield them when its not warm or sunny

This is from early last year, just as they were starting to fill out

2 years ago I got over 200 pounds of grapes. Most were a bit too sour to eat but they made some great wine

My two favouriate flowers are

Daffodils
Tulips.

I like snowdrops as well but that makes 4

Urgh.....I hate snowdrops. When I was at horticultural college they'd bang on about the bloody things all the time. I ended up despising the buggers.

My Riciuns has sprouted!

I'm so excited about this plant. It is the first time I've grown it. 7 out of 11 seeds have germinated. It is one of the most toxic plants in the world.

I have lots of pics to upload when I can be assed.

Ricinus?

Ricinus?

No, it's just the way I'm sat.

Yup. Ricinus communis. Or Castor Oil Plant.

It is the source of ricin, hence it's toxicity.

Which one of us do you want to poison then?

The one with the big ears.

Aren't sour grapes from oop north quite a common crop?

Sounds scary!

Is it dangerous in its plant form? What if you ate a bit, or a bird did?
