Writing partner wanted, Dorset area

Hi, I'm 25 and I'm looking for a sort of writing partner.

I'm new to comedy and have done a few open mic nights since January but want someone likewise to bounce ideas off. But mainly looking for a partner to maybee work with to write some sketches.

My comedy is quite dark and some might say offensive to some people. I've shortlisted about 50 of my jokes that I think could be funny if developed into sketches so mainly need help with putting this together and seeing how it turns out: idealy looking for someone localish to Bournemouth area.

Anyway if you think this is for you, get in touch.

Thanks,

Daryl

I used to live in Bournemouth and to quote Andy Warhol

"There's only one good thing about a small town you'll hate it and you'll know you have to leave."

But post me stuff if you like or bang it up in critique.

I went to Bournemouth University, so lived in the town for four years. Not sure if that helps anything though...

Cheers 4 the replies....do u think if I rang bournemouth uni they would let me use ther stuff to try some filming if a few students could do it with me 4 part of ther media Corse or something?....whats critique? Im new on here lol

You could try contacting the uni but from memory it was a closed set with regard to the use of their stuff so you had to be a registered student. No harm in trying though. You might have more luck in finding some student group who are into drama / writing, and perhaps bribing them with a few pints to hear your proposal.

Critique is a board on this site where you can post up work you have done to get feedback from other writers. It can be a tough environment but is usually frank and honest. The benefit is that you get to see if something you have written is working or not.

However, people are also very complimentary if it is good and criticism is generally pretty constructive.

You are quite right KL. It can be very complimentary and constructive. I guess I was just trying to prepare someone who is new to having their work judged by non friends and family that you may need a thicker skin when something they have sweated over for months is put before strangers. All part of the learning process I guess.
