Maybe to have a poo, some people don't like doing a number two at work.
What are you writing? Page 7
If I'm honest, I have a list of things I'm *not* writing. There's an ancient half-written YA novel destined for the bin if only I could finish it. Then there's a screenplay idea based on a true story that I don't even have the rights to and have no idea how to start anyway. So you know, I write the occasional email...
Now I... I finally have time to do what I've always wanted: write the great American novel. Mine is about a futuristic amusement park where dinosaurs are brought to life through advanced cloning techniques. I call it "Billy and the Cloneasaurus."
On the general subject of writers discussing what they're writing (or, more pertinently, what they're planning to write) I always love what Peter Cook used to say. If he was at a party and the person he was talking to informed him "I'm writing a novel", Peter would reply "Oh, really? Neither am I."

Ha ha, exactly

How did you guess?
There's also a walk on (fall over) part for Norman Wisdom.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ February 2 2011, 7:34 PM GMTI like the idea that it's already somehow controversial.
OK, OK. I meant it deals with a controversial subject.
I'm writing some plot outlines for a sitcom.

Me too! I have a Word file open right now that I'm compiling a scene structure in. And let me tell you *wipes mirthful tear from eye* it's classic stuff.
I can't wait to move on to scene structures!
It f**king rules! Woooo!
Didn't you once say "Aerosmith f**king rules! Woooo!" as well?
Just handed in my first longer thing; I suppose you would call it a comedy drama, but I'd rather you didn't. The response to that was surprisingly good, so now trying my hand at a horror adventure series. Basically having a go at writing other things alongside the sitcoms.
A screenplay about the formative days of the SAS.
I know - I wonder myself, sometimes.
At least it's paid work.

Thought Andy McNab had got this genre pretty much sewn up. Or are you he?

HG. Wells has already done it...
