(At least, he's written two shows I like now, which makes him a 'good writer' in my eyes)
I'd probably say all rounder as opposed to technian. He's Ian Botham Mark Ealham.

It's a funny show. It is. If this was an American show we'd be creaming our little scanties. We would.

Put those words back in your arse, Lucas. Where they belong.
Is he a proven writer? Isn't this his first solo work? Sorry if I'm wrong, but from what I've seen/heard, hasn't he always been supported by another writer in the past, or he's 'just' been the editor. I'm probably wrong.
You can be a 'proven writer' and only have written in teams.

Was Look Around You a solo piece?

No, sir, they shall stay un-arsed.
I've been enjoying the series so far. The dad is great, but the star is Mark Heap......as usual.
Loved the fruit basket this week.
Matthew Stott.
I realise what you are saying, I appreciate there have been some excellent duo comedy writing teams. But, for me, the funniest evidence I've seen of Robert Popper's writing talent, is his surname...So far that is. I'm not a writer of comedy, I wish the guy well, but it's mystifying why, how people find FND funny. I've read better scripts on this site.
I watched the most recent episode last night, had the occasional good line but it was hardly groundbreaking. The brothers even say "brilliant" just like Simon and Will say in The Inbetweeners. Simon Bird is basically playing Will in another setting.
And why did the brothers go to the door with the Dad to get his coat back? Not the worst thing I've ever seen, but certainly not worthy of the praise some give it on here.
Oh, and Mark Heap's character is awful. Not as annoying as Tom Rosenthal's, but close.
Well this doesn't seem to have been a roaring success on here, but I've liked it more and more every week, and tonight's was terrific once again. Really glad there will be more!
I can now see why there are wars in the world. People will always see different things when looking at the same thing.
I honestly thought tonight's episode was without doubt the weakest of the weak. And even more predictable than a banana skin left on the pavement. Criminal!
I really don't like the Mark Heap character, and the shit on a stick was a new low.
As Buster says the conclusion was signposted from the beginning, it was like watching a train smash in slo-mo.
The show just seems to be made up of people repeating each others' names at each other, 'Martin', and 'Brilliant'. The dinner guest's dialogue was appaling, I'm surprised they found an actress to say them.
Yup! Cheers AngieBaby.
