I keep seeing all the trailers for the new sitcom Candy Cabs but I'm convinced that when I was a kid - late 1970s to late 80s - I used to watch a sitcom about female taxi drivers. Does anyone know what it was?
Am I having deja vu?
Carry On Cabby, perhaps? Almost identical basic plot to Candy Cabs.
I don't think it was a Carry On film. What I watched was in colour and on every week.
Well there are a few other shows listed here; any ring a bell?

Doesn't look like any of them meet your description, but could trigger the memory of some further clues...
Looks awful!
But, Jo Joyner is in it..........
Agreed. As ever, the BBC have made the show look awful by putting together a trailer which is completely devoid of funny clips. Or maybe it's just shit.
Yes - there definitely was one. I think it was in the seventies or eighties.
I am indebted to The Sun for this, but is it Rides? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0395898/ - drama rather than sitcom, though by some accounts the new show doesn't have too many laughs either.

Their consistency is commendable though
Yes it will be Carry On Cabby; Candy Cabs is a complete copy of 1960s sexist crap.
I am sure Aaron will disagree at some point...waiting in anticipation.

Yes - I saw that too.
I think going with pink was a mistake - a deliberate homage I fancy to Carry on Cabby to put their hands up on the matter - but still a mistake I think.
Great Pic !

Is it a sexist pic though? I'm not so sure, and the modern take isn't an issue of sexism just naffism?
I agree the 'Carry On' pic was way before PC, but can't defend the 'Candy Cabs' pictorial, does not represent the normal British women.
