Weren't 'talkies' considered quite exciting as well then?

you whipper snapper! Mr Shakespeare had talking characters in his plays for at least 2 years before Griff saw them at the Globe.

Death of Grass is really short, but War Day for me is the daddy.

War Day for me is the daddy.

Is that the one co-written by Whitley "raped-by-aliens" Strieber? I haven't read that but I have Nature's End, which was quite good.

I recently read Ham on Rye by Bukowski and have to say it's easily one of my all time favourite novels. Oddly, one of my other all time favourite novels is The Catcher in the Rye. Any other 'Rye' recommendations?

Thanks Griff, but I'm notoriously anti-gypsy and am quite offended you'd even suggest this.

Good point. I forgot you'd prefer Kevin Rowland's later work.

Is it just me, but does Kevin look an awful lot like our very own Tim?

Scariest most horrific novel I ever read.

Was it a novelisation of Terry and June?

Quite shocking makes Stephen King and Hannibal Lecter look like pussies

Nah may have a go, though I did snicker when I read about Arse Cleaver

Have you read Stephen King's Gerald's Game?

Looks like it has some similarities to this book.

Gerald's Game may be one of his best books.(loved it all be it the villain is accidentally quite funny)

This one though is pure sadism, it's actually disturbing
