Not Going Out - Series 4 Page 24

I suspect not.

Not sure if I should put this here, but this sounds promising:
Not Going Out's going from strength to strength - any plans to muscle Lee out of the way and star in your own sitcom?
I couldn't muscle Lee out of anything! Sure, if someone said "Tim do you fancy doing your own show?" I'd have a whirl at it. As it is I've got the best end, Lee's writing for the new series at the minute so while he's hard at work in his shed I'm just mucking about in the sunshine.
When he says new series, he means a new one as in a fifth one and not the fourth one, doesn't he? I mean, this a pretty recent interview, isn't it?
Well bloody spotted! Woo!
Thanks!
Well, it's been given the green light!
I'm surprised Griff didn't spot that first...

Hurrah
Some sense at the BBC still then.
I've realised it's Lee Mack's smugness that puts me off this show, more than the fact it really is a very weak excuse for a sitcom and there being hardly any real situation or defining character traits. And he would never get a job as an actor on any other show.
Quote: Griff @ March 31 2011, 11:21 AM BSTUnfortunately I rarely manage to assimilate all the information presented by Steve Wright in his radio show due to stabbing my ears repeatedly with a bread knife as soon as the opening jingle comes on.
Do you not download his factoids from the podcast?
And good to hear there's a fifth series. Great show.
Vine was funny on that show, he always is. He did seem to me not to really want to talk about NGO, or was that just me? He did say that none of his jokes are used on it. I'd like to know why not? I think his stuff is funnier than Mack's.

I thought the latest series of NGO, despite some really good moments, was a disappointment. That's because there wasn't enough Vine; he usually stole the show with the scenes he was in. Biased view admittedly, Vine is probably my favourite stand-up.

What because he doesn't like it, or being involved with it, or something?
He didn't say that, no, it was possibly me in an over anal-ytical mood, but he seemed to go a bit flat when asked about his input into NGO, IMO of course. Coupled with recent news about him wanting to leave, I sensed a bit of dissatisfaction with his limited part in it. Or having to play 2nd fiddle to the, IMO, over hyped Mack. Perhaps. IMO.
I don't think that you can read too much into an interview that is a) meant to promote something else, and b) edited.

I wouldn't say that was true!
