The End

I can imagine it's repetitive, but as it's written by Robert Popper and Mark Heap is bafflingly afforded Comedy God-like status on here, don't expect much agreement.

I agree entirely.

Also agree with the implied sentiment that Heap is a good performer, but really overrated for his comedy CV.

Overrated for his comedy CV? Are you saying he hasn't been in good shows? He has been in at least four or five full on classics.

Not just here.

Remember he doesn't like Spaced.

Still leaves Green Wing, Big Train, Jam, Lark Rise To Candleford, and so on. (Not the last one)

He is bleeding brilliant in Green Wing.

No. But there's a difference between being a good or even great performer (which Heap undoubtedly is) and being god-like. I do not believe him to have really attained the latter.

Heap was brilliant in Spaced. Can't vouch for him in Green Wing as that stop start fast forward, slow mo camera technique irritated me too much to watch it. The problem is, he has been cast as a character akin to the one in Spaced, i.e. oddball, but it doesn't work in FND. It's almost as if they chucked the character in as a device to expand upon what is a pretty lame premise. It's just bits of other shows rolled into one very average, forgettable programme.

Well, no one is actually god-like.

The dog makes me chuckle. Great name, great face. Kudos to the casting director.

In the last ep, Heap demonstrating his dog-calling skills to Tamsin was really funny, like a strangulated death-cry in some crap AmDram production.

Recorded last week's but despite having had ample opportunity to watch it, I haven't bothered my arse.

So not exactly 'must see' for me. Won't wipe it though and will probably let series link run its course then have a splurge-out one day.

Have to say though of the 3 (I think) that I have watched none of the characters does much for me. It's kinda watchable but a bit...Meh.

I enjoyed said last episode a good deal more than the others, but it's still lacking....well, lots - and it is VERY worrying that the dog is by far the best character in the show!

Spaced was nowhere near as funny as it thought it was, Green Wing was dire, Big Train never really clicked despite a few good ideas and Jam...well I've never watched Jam.

If he's so beloved because of the above then fair play. Not for me though.
