Recording digital TV Page 2

Lol, not if you get a biggun!

Yeah, but it's not unlimited, even if it's big!

This is sounding really dodgy now.

... So just to reiterate my first post anyway, TopUp TV Anytime. :)

Laughing out loud

I like HHD/PVR because I'm a lazy arse and don't like to get up and change discs, this is my argument to why I like them better anyway. But it's a smart move to have both, like I do.

Well, fair enough I guess. The arrangement of all my 'stuff' means that I don't have to even get up to change discs. Unless I'm sat in/on bed watching TV of course. But that's hard, 'cos me peepers ain't good enough.

(I would still opt for PVR though. Pausing and rewinding live TV, as well as recording AND watching numerous different things at the same time, is a bloody lifesaver.)

I have a DVD Recorder.

Do you have a lazee boy arm chair, with all your equipment on one side and a small fridge on the other, filled with Coke?

Hahah, no, if only. Unfortunately, my room is much too small. :(

thanks for all the advice. sad to say i'm none the wiser. what's a hdd? i feel like my dad.
anyway, barry, i actually think me and you should get together some time and you can show me exactly how your machine works. you are well fit.

Johnny - TopUp TV Anytime box. I think Tesco are doing them for about £60 at the moment. I highly recommend it.

And/or a Freeview enabled DVD recorder.

So what exactly is this? Give me some more info, please.

HDD - Hard drive.
Top Up TV - http://www.topuptv.com/

Get one. Highly recommended. :)

Sky + has saved my husbands life on many an occasion. I would have murdered him by now without it.
It is worth the extra. Should a family member call in the middle of your fav programme you can pause it. You can record all the stuff you want to watch at times when you are sleeping, getting pissed, or on rare rare occasions, shagging.
Woooooooo I would kiss my box everyday if I could reach.

I will get it after christmas.

do you have to sign up to sky for a skyplus box?
also, are they as good as other ones on the market?
sky plus sounds easy - the topouptv box sounds hard for some reason.

Sky+ - Yes, and it's expensive for Sky+ too. For example, Sky+ HD is £400 just for the box, I seem to recall.

Top Up TV - It really is unutterably easy. Just watch TV as normal, hit the pause button if nature calls, and the play button when you return. If some annoying bastard comes into the room at that crucial moment, hit rewind. Or press the 'Guide' button to view the TV listings, and select stuff to record. It really is very, very simple. I don't know how I've lasted so long without one.

Note that you don't have to have the subscription TO Top Up TV to get the box. It comes with a month's free trial, but you don't have to use it, and don't have to continue with it.

that sounds mega. and you can buy these little fellas from tesco?
also, how would it fit in with my present sky box (which is largely redundant apart from delivering a few random free channels) and my freeview TV?
