I've got about 7 followers, so no, no hints!
Ah - I'm stuck on the mid 140s meself. Biggest spurts have been a retweeted comment by someone big, or joining in hashtag games or projects. Comment on other people's tweets too, and they might add you. Or worse.
I go 20 followers. I'm a super-star!

hashtags, start conversations with people, follow shit loads of people - a lot will follow back.
This is what I've been told I've only got about 160 followers though, so can't really say it works. If you get someone with a lot of followers following you and they tweet about you helps.
