British Comedy Guide

New to the forum

Hi folks.I'm new to this forum although I have used the Scottish Comedy Forum for a few months.I am based near Edinburgh and run Sit Down Stand Up comedy club doing gigs in various venues around the Edinburgh and Lothians area.As you will be aware the Edinburgh Fringe and Festival are but a few months away.Already I work with guys who have shows planned for the Fringe and give them the opportunity to work on their new material.I have 40 gigs under my belt and have never gigged in England.I will be in York from 18th to 21st April and if there is anything comedy wise, viewing or taking part,I'd appreciate a nod.The invitation,as I said before is reversed.I will post on this site and the Scottish forum any gigs I am running.Keep em laughing.greg davysson.

Hello :)

You want to check out the Yorkshire Comedy Forum for gigs in york. Good luck!

Thanks y'all. As I've said in my intro,if you fancy a jaunt up to Scotlandville let me know. It's not as scary as some might think and it will broaden your comedy environment. In fact if your funny we don't give a damn where you come from. I am progressing Sit Down Stand Up further East and towards the Borders region so one bonus would be less travelling.I encourage car sharing for cost reasons but also to create bonding between comics who may never meet each other. Now preparing for tonights gig with five of the funniest guys up here, and five of the nicest, politest guys you could meet. It's the only reasons I work with them. Have a nice weekend.greg davysson

Hi Greg, welcome to the board.

Just a polite note, please do remember spaces after full stops and commas! You wouldn't believe how much easier to read it makes posts for everyone else!

Good point,well made........................................Happy Sunday.

Nice to meet you, cowboy!

Hi Greg,

How come you're in Edinburgh but haven't gigged in Newcastle yet?? Our north east circuit is bloody brilliant. If you need contacts around here, give me a shout.

Also, if you ever need a car full of lovable Northerners to fill up a bill in Ed, I know people who have cars are jokes :D

Hello All:

My name is Richard, and glad to have found this forum.

I am from NYC,and frankly, our "comedy" is nowhere as good as the BritComs. Unfortunately, only our public television stations carry the Brit Coms. Currently, we can see The Old Guys, Are You Being Served, Keeping Up Appearances, and a couple of others. And only on weekends.

Looking forward to reading the postings here.
