Film better than the book? Page 5

Bourne, however, is f**king awesome! Better than any Bond, including Casino Royale (the best Bond film). Supremacy is the bee's knees, but it doesn't make any sense without having seen the first, as my confused wife will attest to.

Dan

There's a new Bourne film coming apparently; one which does not feature Bourne. Which you would imagine is a pretty shit idea.

Executive Decision is bloody aces.

The Rock is just f**king sublime.

Yeah, it's fun. As well as being a slow-mo Michael Bay wankfest swimming in sentimentality.

Laughing out loud I heard the review of that on Front Row and just thought "I hope to f**k my other half doesn't get to hear about this".

I don't know. Mark Kermode really liked it and he's no fool.

I hope you've gone off piste and that Die Hard isn't a book.

Those Rings movies were dull. Lots of walking.

Dismissed like others would dismiss golf

Lawson's the Mark worth listening to. You should know that by now being a Front Row regular.

I like them both. In the same way I like both Godot and Stott.

I enjoy the Bond films, but with the exception of Casino Royale, they're probably too camp with their cartoon villains and gadgets to be considered great action films. And Casino Royale worked because they took the Bourne template and applied it to Bond.

It actually is based on a novel, this one:

Reeeeeeeeeeeally?

That's actually quite cool.

This.

And noting the irony of 'too camp' from a man who has a winking pussy as his avatar.

Mark Kermode's name always makes me laugh.

I mean...Mark? Tee-hee.

Getting back to the thread -

Great Expectations 1946 David Lean version

He's not directing it, is he? I thought it was someone else.

But in the film it was done with a satirical wink. ;)

Duh well I know that! In as much as the whole bloody film has a satirical wink :)
