I should add that comment was in no way aimed at you.

Ah, I didn't think it was aimed at me (sorry if it seemed that was what I was saying), but it got me thinking maybe I am one of those, ha!

As much as I do love the characters and enjoy writing them, maybe I should take a break from them and come back when I can do something better with that story.

Haven't we got this to 100 pages yet? Or have we given up now that a whole pound has been raised for charity?

Charity's fine,

I want to be the top of the 100 page!

But what if I fail? Should I give up posting? What if I was in the next 200 posts, ah it would be a case of so near but so far away. I'd like some feedback on my post please.

It needs work Declan.

Have another go! :)

:)

Top of the world, Ma!

Damn you zooo!

Oooh I'm bitter now.

Actually, I'd like to congratulate zooo for making it to the top of the 100th page. I read zooo's post, and, although it was a little derivative of Rolling eyes I liked its brevity and its use of irony.

Ah, back to the drawing board.

Laughing out loud

There's always page 200...

Don't give up, Declan. Even though you didn't make it to the top of page 100 there's always page 200, maybe even page 300.

As for feedback I run a course on 'post whoring' that shows you how to compose the structure and timing of posts. You can even send me a sample of one of your posts and I'll send it back to you in forum format so you know what it looks like posted on a web page.

(You actually were top of the page though, technically.)

zooo, that's very kind of you, and I appreciate you've got so much more experience and insight than me, but I need to learn my craft, so please feel free to give me some feedback on this.

I don't know, Sean, I've been waiting for this opportunity for ages, I worked for hours on that post, but it just wasn't what the forum was looking for. Still, as you say, I'll lick my wounds and work on lots of other posts and then maybe I'll get lucky at the top of page 200.

Thanks for your advice guys.

Top of the world, Ma!

Whoa. That's the name of my submitted sitcom (minus Ma). Thanks for mentioning it. :)

Don't beat yourself up. No one's saying it's not what the forum's looking for, just that you need to work on your timing. The content was pretty much spot on.
I remember my first post was in the middle of the page and totally missed the tone of the thread, but I learnt from my mistakes. I still miss the top sometimes but every day is a school day.

Hi Michael

We're looking to get them out within the next three weeks, as soon as we've got enough to record together.

Due to logistics, Help! gigs are only going to be in London from now on. We're happy to do Introduction to Sitcom Writing workshops around the country if you can get enough punters together.
