Is this racist?

Warning; contains imagery of a bum. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB8-S2pV27w

I wouldn't use the phrase "Big Chocolate Bum" about a black guy's arse, but it's surely OK if he uses it about his own. But now that he's said it, should I feel OK about saying it myself? Has he set the precedent?

Why are you showing us big chocolate bums??

I like how the woman looks like if she can't decide if it's racist or not.

Sorry, you do have to watch the clip to get the context. To summarise; black sportsman loses shorts during a televised match & appearance of bum causes raised eyebrows. When asked about it on live TV, he says that his daughter had said "dad, we all saw your big chocolate bum". It sounds racist, but surely he can say it if he wants.

What would you expect a black man to have down there - a green bum.

A nice fella calling his owm embarrasment a 'chocolate bum' is funny

Of course it's not racist in that context.

Well it's only racist if someone takes offence to it. Considering he was quoting his daughter, I suspect there was no malice behind it.

Would it be any more racist than someone saying I had a milky bum? Nope. Not racist.

Not racist per se. But if you said it to someone and it did upset them, probably best to just stop saying it, rather than shouting 'it's not racist you chocolate bastard, people on the internet said so'.

Not at all racist and a most impressive arse
