I sent a script to WR a couple of years ago. By the time they got back to me 4 months later to tell me they weren't interested, a producer had submitted it to one of the comedy commissioners who liked it enough to commission a pilot script.

Thanks Steve. Thats interesting to know. I guess the criteria of the Writersroom and L Stock are different (aside the obvious of trying to identify talent!), so there could still be hope!

I got through to the next round - my email was stuck in my junk folder. Also in there - some more great news - I've won the Ghanian Lottery!

Can anyone tell me what the actual prize is? Do any of these scripts have a chance of getting commissioned or is it a seminar followed by a meet and greet with Simon Nye?

I think you just get to re-write Mrs Browns Boys

That wouldn't be the worst fate... it's a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine...

Hi - this was posted on the BBC writersroom site this morning re the fiasco of not replying to everyone:

"If you received an initial email confirming that we received your script but haven't heard anything further - please email us on writersroom@bbc.co.uk - we will respond to every email. At this point, we have successfully made contact with everyone who has been selected to go through to the next round."

Sorry Dan, but you will need a gateaux now (unless of course they rang you yesterday...)

Thanks word girl. I've emailed, though rather pointlessly it would seem...

Dan

I agree. I didn't bother emailing - it would only have been swear words. Very disappointed by how disorganised and rude they've been. Never mind, onwards and upwards, as they say... let them eat cake! Oh wait... that's us.

:D You should have been top 10%!

Thought it my job to wind Dan up his cake consumption. :)

You're biscuits. Know your place!

Haha. If only. I dread to think what percentage you are if you don't even get a rejection email. Can I be cakes and pastries, or is that just greedy?

Hmm, sweet pastries. I need the revenue from savouries so it's a separate lot.

Dan

You could keep track of it all on a pie chart.

What do petit fours count as?
