That's the only thing that's made me laugh in the last 10 hours.

SOMEONE THINKS I'M FUNNY!

Gosh, you must be in a bad way.

Not sharp enough. You need wafers. Nasty edges on those. Or you could always try putting your eyes out with chocolate fingers.

well done to the winners ! be interested to hear what their shows were about + what made them stand out? sure they were of good quality , but probably won't make it down to watch them unfortunately. do we get a synopsis of them to read or just titles? would be interested to hear more about them anyway

Be interested also to read anyone else's script who didnt get through aswell, am gonna post the crap I wrote in the critique place on this site so would be interested to read anyone else's cliche-ridden x factor contestant dribblings too ! specially "magsy" a couple of pages back giving me a hard time for daring to ask some questions - please share your shakespeare level of talent with the rest of us plebs, oh wise one? If only I had substituted Jesus for Magsy the story woulda made a lot more sense probably :D.

anyways good luck to the people who got through hope a good TV show comes out of it eventually, can't be worse than most of the stuff on now!

cheers

Just choked back enough bile to finally write the congratulations email. Well done all who got through. Even if you don't get staged, Hat Trick will see your stuff, which is great.

Having been involved the last couple of years, those of you have not yet got stuff from page to stage are in for a treat if you get down to the last 8 (possibly even the last 16 if I understand the development process correctly). I found the process fantastic - especially for my first one in 2009 (Trainspotting).

I envy you that, but not having to write 2 more episodes in the next few weeks.

Well done to Si and Dec...maybe see you at the shows.

This has been a great learning curve, my first sitcom, but I must remember that just because it's funny in my head, doesn't make it funny on paper.
Well done to those that got through.
I have already written my second sitcom and in my opinion it is better than the first, will be back next year, see you all then if not before. Wave

Well done one and all, the ones that got through and the ones, like me, who didn't.
We ALL produced a finished piece of work, maybe be not much consolation at the moment but I, for one, am chuffed to have been part of it all.
Good luck to those of you who are now working on your next two episodes, looking forward to coming to live shows.
x

Well done to those that have gone on to the next stage, to the thousand or so others ....next year, also can Declan or Simon tell me when your running your courses again ?

We ALL produced a finished piece of work

Exactly. Writing's an empirical art-the more you do it, the better you get. Well over a thousand of you produced a finished work of art and that is a real achievement.

Morning DS. If you click on the 'Workshops' section at the top of the page (provided by the excellent Mark Boosey) you'll find details.

Anything else, just pm either one of us and we'll try to help.

The clouds have parted. The sky looks bluer. A small commission has just landed in the inbox. Plus a 50% bonus if I can beat the deadline. Whahey! :D

Weren't you in a 'never give up' mood a day or two back?

Save them, rework them. Etc.

Yes I was trying to encourage a youngster on here, never to give up, as he has years ahead of him; whereby I'm way over the hill and it's time to put my pen/paper to bed. :)

You're just jealous in case I'm being paid in custard creams

I am. Totally. I can't even get out of this chair.

Dan

Well then. Get your funny head on and write some cracking one liners for NJ. You might get enough to feed your habit for half an hour.
